Researchers have made a startling correlation between the rise and fall of solar activity and the human consciousness.
Professor Raymond Wheeler of the University of Kansas has come to the same conclusions that Russian scientist Alexander Chizhevsky discovered in 1915.
Solar storms directly cause conflict, wars and even death among humans on Earth.
The sun’s activity, as it interacts with the Earth’s magnetic field, effect extensive changes in human being’s perspectives, moods, emotions and behavioral patterns.
During solar minimums and maximums the geomagnetic fields begin to intensify. The magnetic fields interact with human electrochemically within the brain. It affects psychological mechanisms creating anomalous hormonal swings and significantly mutated brain-wave activity.
Wheeler expanded on Chishevsky’s work by studying violence during 1913; measuring the time between battles and severity. These findings were compared with the sun’s 11 year sunspot cycle.
The results showed that as the sun cycle peaked, there was a rise in human unrest, uprisings, rebellions, revolutions, and wars between nations. As the magnetic fields intensified, the reaction within the human brain was a mixture of deadly emotional tantrums and unadulterated killing sprees.
As Wheeler further compared his findings with human history, he found a startling pattern that could be traced back 2,500 years.
In solar cycle 22, at the sun’s maximum we experienced Iraq invading Kuwait and the US entering the first battle against Saddam Hussein.
Just eleven years later, as the sun became active again, 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq ensued.
In the latter half of 2010, the sun reached another peak that affected the Earth’s magnetic field; we witnessed dissent in Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen.
Those global uprisings spread to Syria, Libya, Iran and China as riots continued across the European landscape.
This civil unrest has now reached its influence across the modernized world and even into Middle Eastern countries, Africa and Asia.
It is projected, based on Wheeler’s research, as the sun’s activity increases, so will the violence on Earth.
We are now entering the 24th solar cycle.
A surge in solar activity by 50 times more than previously recorded is anticipated. NASA and other space agencies have been warning of this fact.
Through 2011 and onto 2012, the X-flares are expected to endure toward their maximum. As this incredible activity is being witnessed, we are assured that more wars, toppling countries and populations will be displaced.
In 2012 we are seeing these events coming to pass; with only more intensification to come.
Wheeler’s predecessor was a man named Dr. Robert Becker. Becker was an author, expert in biological electricity and a professor with State University. In 1963, Becker, along with his colleague, Dr. Freedman, discovered that there was a marked correlation between solar activity and psychotic outbreaks of mass insanity on Earth.
Becker and Freedman made their most dire predictions of incredible violence to culminate in the years 2012 and 2013.

In a remarkable presentation delivered at the 2011 Nexus Conference in Queensland, Pane Andov, otherwise known as “Astral Walker”, talks about the mega event that will take place at the end of 2012 and at beginning of the year 2013. I’ve been asked by many people, from many places in the world, to comment on the events of 2011 and where I believe they’re leading and what we can expect for 2012 and the years ahead. Rather than responding to hundreds of letters individually I’ve chosen to answer in one letter to our community.
The Stage is Set:
It’s no secret that the world of the past is gone. The conventional ways of thinking and living that we’ve grown accustomed to — the ways we’ve thought of jobs, careers, money, wealth, security, healing and the role of America in the larger world are falling away before our eyes, faster than even those who knew the changes were coming could have expected. It is a fact that you and I are witnessing the greatest shift in power, wealth, resources and thinking in recorded history. And while the experts have their viewpoints regarding what lies at the root of specific crises and what “went wrong” with this or that, when we step back and look at the big picture, the reason for such massive change becomes obvious: the world of the past is no longer sustainable.
From our policies of energy, economics and technology to the way we think of security and how nations work together, the choices made in the past no longer work in the world of today. As we discover the limits and experience the consequences of the vast learning curve that has led to 2012, we’ve arrived at a turning point with only one of two possible outcomes – transformation or collapse.
Choice Point 2012
While ancient traditions and modern science underscore the magnitude of our time in history, they also remind us of a powerful fact: it is through our choices that the outcomes will be determined. The question is this: How do we tip the scales of peace, cooperation and healing in our favor? Specifically, how do we create an environment that supports fair and sustainable economies? That shares Earth respectfully and compassionately with all life? That bridges the issues that tear at the fabric of society?
The diverse body of work that I’ve developed over the past 25 years is my answer to these questions. The choices we make in life are a reflection of the way we think of ourselves, our relationship to the Earth, our past, and to one another. I believe that when the facts of these relationships are clear, our choices become obvious. Those of you that know me personally know that I’m an optimist. I’m also a realist. I’m optimistic about our future, while I realistically acknowledge that we are poised on the brink of what will either become some very bad choices, or very some good decisions. For me, knowing that choices exist, and that we’re living a time that gives our choices a greater potency, gives new meaning and renewed hope to this 2012 year of emergence.
The shift in thinking
So, what do I think 2012 has in store? Honestly, I can’t say because we’re still in the process of choosing. What I do know is that it will take every one of us, and the diversity of our beliefs and ideas, and the love for life that we bring to our global community to birth the world of our greatest destiny rather than succumb to the darkness of our greatest fears. For those who can embrace the learning curve of our past without judgment, the future becomes the palate for new industry, new jobs, new forms of expression, and new communities based upon sustainable ways of thinking, living, and being in our world. For those who cling to old and unsustainable ways of living by clinging to old and unsustainable ways of thinking, 2012 may, in fact, look like the fulfillment of history’s darkest prophecies.
Perhaps one of the most powerful keys to determining our experience of the months ahead comes from a shift in thinking that invites us beyond asking, “What can I get from the world that exists,” to asking, “What can I offer to the world that is awakening?” The way we answer this question as individuals becomes our collective answer to what comes next.
Personally, I’ve never felt better about the future and the possibilities that await us. Now it’s up to us. We’ve already made the choices of peace and cooperation in our hearts. Now it’s time for us to live those choices in our world. I look forward to working with you as we do so, together, throughout this new year of 2012, and beyond.
This day is a very magical time. Toward the end of your years, you celebrate and you do so in many different ways. Yes, you have a holiday called Christmas. You also have many of your completions at the end of this time as you begin to step into a new energy. Each one of you starts evaluating what you have just stepped out of, what you have just moved from. We tell you that when you are moving forward, there is an aspect that can part all the seas for you and clear your path more easily than any other. That is what you are experiencing during these times…gratitude. It is the greatest creator that you have, for that is the energy that creates just in front of you even when you are not aware of it. That which you give thanks for, increases every time; that which you focus on automatically grows, for you are creators. You cannot not create. It is not possible. Yet, you have incorporated different aspects of creation to re-mind yourself of your spirit. Often the decorations that you have around your holidays, such as the colors of Christmas, carry more significance than you may realize. Red and green seem to be used as Christmas colors all around the world, no matter the country or culture. We Red is the color that humans believe represents the heart, but the heart chakra color is actually green. In reality that blending of the humanness with the spirit is what this is all about. This is a time when you stop in your path and you look at your experience on planet Earth…where you have been, where you are going, what your joys are, and what piece of that can become a little more comfortable as you step forward.
New Possibilities of Spiritual Creation
The times of 2012 have already happened in all of your dreams. What was going to take place on the 21st of December, or whatever date you had in mind, has already been pulled forward. This is very typical of Lightworkers. We tell you that something will happen on a certain date and you say, “No, we will have it happen now.” You bring it forward, just as you have many times throughout your history, but we also tell you else something. In that vacancy of what you have pulled forward, you now have the capabilities of reaching levels that were never dreamt of, that you never thought were possible. This is now possible not only because of the alignment of all of the energies in the cosmos, but because you have created the vacuum.
You have already received those aspects which you are ready to move into, and which you thought would come in to magically change your world. You have changed this world and that is the beauty of what is going forward, for each one of you are creators. When you hold a thought in your head and it mixes with another bit of emotion from your heart, the thought manifests. There used to be a long time lag between thought and manifestation, but now it is simply the act of holding a pure thought that begins to manifest everything that you have seen. You have known this truth in your heart, but now you will begin to see physical evidence of it. Now you will begin to see the effect of your power of creation on the world around you. You do it with love; you do it with these times of gratitude. If you wish your power to grow on planet Earth, give thanks for the power you have. Find ways of nurturing this power as you all learn to use it consciously. Share your power with others to exercise it and help to awaken it in every person you encounter. Then as you begin to trust yourselves to carry that power, you will naturally begin to slowly create for yourself.
There came a time on planet Earth when humans developed communications outside of their small local and family groups. News started to travel along a communication grid, for that is the way we perceive all of this. It was a connection from one point to another that originally began in the days of ancient Greece, when a runner would run from one city to the other carrying information. That track between this city and the next one became the beginning of a communication grid. Over periods of time the technology changed. You developed telegraphs and eventually telephones. Not the phones you use today, but the ones that actually used wires – do you re-member those? Yes, we tell you that was a physical manifestation of the communication grid, for it literally was a way to connect all of you when it felt like you were disconnected. Now, what has taken place is that communication grid experienced difficulties, because it is not everywhere. It is in your populated cities, but there are gaps in the grid on the outskirts; in some areas it is very strong and in others it is very weak. That was a problem you had to work with, but you have now taken technology to a different level entirely. You no longer need the wires to the degree you needed them before. You are moving this communication grid from one form to another, evolving it with each step.
The Singularity and Deep Contact
There is coming a time soon that has been known in the scientific worlds as the “singularity.” There have even been lots movies made about this subject; scary movies, of course, for those are the ones that sell. The idea of the singularity is very simple: it is a point at which computers can outthink humans. There has been much speculation about it; many projects, and fun little science fiction stories have come from singularity. What will take place? Will computers take over your world? No, this is actually the point where the communication grid goes to the next level, where you no longer need the wires. It is not a result of your wireless technologies. Instead it is because you hold that ability to communicate in your heart, and this no longer knows the boundaries of big cities or unincorporated areas. It is now a communication directly from your heart to another. We have told you this was coming, and mentioned it many times. We have called it “deep contact,” and we simply said that there will come a point on planet Earth where you will no longer need all the communication devices. You will be able to communicate with very few words and eventually with energy alone.
In the meantime, the first expressions of this deep contact are simply communicated from the heart and through using fewer words. Many times your words get in the way of your meaning, because sometimes there are not words in your language that describe what you are feeling.. These challenges will begin to erase themselves as you move to this next level, and that is a possibility that was never there before. This is one of the greatest pieces that you have created on planet Earth as a real possibility. We still describe it as a possibility rather than a reality, for we cannot tell the future. You are creators, and you are writing it every day of your lives. We can tell the direction you are going and we can see what is a little further down the path ahead you, but you are in charge every moment and we love it when you suddenly take a turn. You suddenly say, “This does not feel good anymore. I am going to turn.” And you come to us and ask, “Which is the best direction? Should we turn right or should we turn left?” And we tell you to turn right and watch as you take a left turn, for we tell you that also works. We will make the best of any path you are on. We work with you as best we can to help you understand there are no right turns or wrong turns. There is your path which is now led from your heart in a different way, in a different form of communication than was ever dreamt of.
You are closing a very magical year; 2011 produced more vibrational changes on planet Earth than we have ever seen and you are just getting warmed up. That is the beautiful part, for you are starting to carry this energy and it is no longer about hiding. The days of, “Oh, I cannot tell anybody about this,” or “I cannot share anything about this,” are over. Now you are seeing everything coming out in the open. You are seeing a blend of your scientific world and your metaphysical world, which was never before dreamt to be possible. The scientific and metaphysical concepts reside in totally different worlds; one can be proven while the other cannot, yet they are starting to agree with one another. They are starting to find the commonalities of love on planet Earth and how to grow love, for that is the piece that you are all discovering in front of now.
You have the opportunity to create a new world in the next year, a world of your choosing. We talk not about the entire world, for it is your world; it is your daily path that you will be choosing and every part of that. What would you like in your world? What is important to you in that perspective? What would be the most important pieces if you were god and you were designing a new planet Earth? Look at that now, for you are creating your own reality. You are the center of your own universe, and that has always been the way. The first thing that you do as the center of your own universe is take responsibility for being the center…take responsibility for who you are on this planet. It is a joyous piece, not a difficult piece. Once you accept that responsibility, you own who you are. There is no right or wrong about that; there is no adjusting to make people understand. You simply put your message out to the universe. You carry it in your smile and in your language, even your common everyday words. You even carry it every time you laugh, sending out a new vibration.
The changes that are taking place in the year 2012 are beyond your understanding on many different levels. It will take you almost 27 years to realize the connections that are being made in this next year, and to fully unfold them and see what is really taking place. So we ask you, do not concern yourself with what is going to happen or how it is going to happen. Simply walk into it with your arms open and with a smile on your face. Let it have the highest potential possible. If you hear us yelling to turn right and you turn left, you are going to hear the laughter as well for there are no wrong turns. It is a path of your own choosing. You have been looking for this path of least resistance into your spirituality. We tell you the path is created just before your foot hits the ground, for you are creating so much now.
Speak Your Truth
The biggest piece we wish to share with you about the year 2012 is that the entire focus of humanity on planet Earth is changing. It has already begun in many small ways, and this is why you are seeing so much upheaval on planet Earth. Almost every time you turn on your television, you can see some big, dramatic event taking place in some part of the world. You are evolving it and you must find what you are unhappy with, in order to evolve. If you come together and express your dissatisfaction, even though you may not know the complete answers about what would bring you satisfaction, still speak your truth of where you are at that moment even if it is difficult. For that is what is clearing the deck and making it possible for you to create this new world that you are stepping into. As you step forward one other part is changing, which is that you are the center of your own universe. That will never change again. What is changing is how you harmonize your universe with the other gods on planet Earth. This has always been part of getting along on Earth: “How do I harmonize with other people? How do I work with other people? How do I get along?” It is much more than that now, for they are a part of you and you are a part of them. That connection is actually going to be seen more on the other side of 2012, and it is happening day by day.
The veil is beginning to thin. The connections that you have with each other will become more visible and more usable; you will become aware of the possibilities for anchoring that energy in many different ways. The idea is to play with it and to know that these changes will be happening. You have seen people that have been psychic, who can communicate by literally sending something from here to someone there without the challenges of distance or time. Now you are going to learn how to use it within yourself, how to be responsible for using and sending your own energy to connect with other people. Sometimes it is a simple connection and you will make a big difference in their lives by helping them make a course correction. Other times you will simply be helping them to step up a step. Whatever it is, your success on planet Earth after 2012 will have to do with how you get along with the other gods on planet Earth. That is the reason we call this the Age of Empowerment, not just your personal empowerment. How well you empower the people around you will have a lot to do with your next steps, and your connections to yourself and this new energy.
There are many pieces of that are starting to unfold little by little. Yes, you will still experience some course corrections and see some changes that need to come to planet Earth…the planet herself. You have had a little breather in between your tsunamis, your earthquakes and similar challenges in these areas. This has been the Earth making her adjustments to get to this next level, and there are some more adjustments that need to be made. What we tell you about this is that the more you work with yourself, the easier it is for the planet to make these corrections. It does not need to have an extremely negative on this planet or be a tragedy. You can walk into this energy with your eyes open and many of you are beginning to do that. You are walking daily with a cosmic connection of your own spirit of who you are, and this was never before dreamt to be possible on planet Earth. It is the reason there is so much attention on Earth now, for you are creating miracles on a daily basis. You are changing all that is; you are the masters of the gameboard.
Each step that you experience will put you in a new place. Becoming comfortable anchoring in the new energy will bring with it some challenges for many people. Many of you feel as if you are on unstable ground, and you do not know how to anchor yet or understand what is taking place. The truth is that you have stepped in to experience that, so that once you do find the anchor and stop moving the first thing you do is to reach out your hand to someone else to help them stabilize. This is the new planet Earth, the new connection. You will look out there for opportunities as you always have, but instead of the opportunities that you have found before you will be looking for opportunities to help others in some way. We tell you it is not measured; it is not a collection; there is not a certain mark where you have helped other people enough to get into heaven. Instead it is a lifestyle, a way of working with each other in order for all of you to step into this energy. You do not need to wait for heaven when you die. Create it right here, right now. That is the part that each and every one of you have carried from Home.
When you start connecting these pieces and experience this new communication, you will understand that unique piece that you have and making it easier to bring all the pieces together to create heaven here on Earth. It is underway. It is happening. Are you ready? The energy will be a conscious step for each and every one of you. You will have to answer that question in your own heart. It is here and our hands are out to you, for every step that you take is changing planet Earth and changing the love energy here. You have shifted this planet far beyond your understanding and you are just getting started.
It is with the greatest of honor that we address the masters of the gameboard. We ask you to treat each other with the greatest respect for you are looking in the mirror. Nurture one another every chance you get. Hold your hand out as often as you can to make a difference in someone’s life. Re-member it is a beautiful game. Play well together.

THE MAYAN CALENDAR
The Mayans developed a simple yet comprehensive calendar system that allowed them to describe the internal processes of time or nature, often referred as an underworld, meaning that which goes on within that is often kept from plain sight.

The Mayans used a Vegesimal system that rises by factors of twenty, with one exception. A day is a Kin. Twenty (20) Kins is a Uinal. Eighteen (18) Uinals represents a Tun (360 days). Twenty (20) Tuns is a Katun (7,200 days). Twenty (20) Katuns is a Baktun (144,000 days). A Pictun consists of 2,880,000 days, a Calabtun is 57,600,000 days and a Kinchilitun is 1,152,000,000 days or 3 million 154 thousand years, Alautun, which is 20 tuns raised to the sixth power or 63.1 million years and finally a Hablatun, 20 tuns raised to the 7th power or 1.26 billion years. Each cycle is broken down into thirteen stages, evolutionary processes or heavens that evolve from seed to maturity.
AZTEC AGES OR SUN GODS
The idea that December 21, 2012 may bring the end of the world is based on the Aztec Sun Disk (shown above) that shows 5 ages or Sun gods. The first Sun god Tezcatlipoca took the form of a jaguar and destroyed the world. The world was destroyed by a great wind when the reign of the second Sun god, Quetzalcoatl, came to an end. Tlaloc was the third Sun god, but Questzalcoatl wasn’t happy and made fire rain down causing destruction and the end of that age. The fourth Sun god was Chalchiuhtlicue (lady of the jade skirts), the goddess of water – lakes and streams. The fighting gods caused a flood, which destroyed the Earth. The fifth Sun were two gods, Tecciztecatl and Nanauatl. The gods decided that the first to offer his life in a blazing fire would be Sun god. Both jumped in creating two Suns (bianry stars) that shun brightly. The gods wouldn’t stand for this, so they threw a rabbit into the face of Tecciztecatl to dim his brightness. And so he became the moon, doomed to chase the sun forever, but never to shine as bright.
MAYAN WORLD AGE Many authors believe that we are living in the fifth and final Mayan world age or cycle that started on August 11, 3114 BC. Our present world age that started in 3114 BC consists of 5,125 years. When you insert the Aztec creation story that describes five world ages of creation (four of which have passed) into the Mayan Long Count calendar the number of years is close to a precession year lasting 25,625 years (5,125 times 5).
Many authors believe that four world ages came immediately before the start of the Mayan calendar in 3114 BC, but the historical records do not support the existence of such earlier cycles or ages that we can easily fit into a neat package of 5,125 years periods going back into time or readily associate with the Aztec Sun Disk. No author has offered dates for these four previous world ages that can be used as a guide to understanding the cycle that started 3114 BC. Some claim that the prior world ages or cycles were longer than the fifth world age that started 3114 BC. Dr. Paul LaViolette believes that some earlier cycles lasted up to 820 million years for the Age of the Jaguar or Mammalian Age.
Scientist and author, Maurice Cotterrell, The Super Gods and The Mayan Prophecies, strongly insist that this period is not the completion of a cycle that can be attributed to the Mayan calendar.
In fact Cotterrell argues that the Mayan calendar goes beyond 2012 to include other cycles far into the future that exceed 1,872,000 days and that “at best it can only be considered to be 13/20ths of the Pictun, the next largest period” that began on August 11, 3114 BC.
THE AGE OF MAN Zacharia Sitchin, author of The Twelfth Planet believes that The Age of Man, a time when human beings were given dominion over the Earth, started around 3,100 BC. The Mayan universe that started on August 11, 3114 BC corresponds to the start of ‘The Age of Man’ described by Sitchin. This date also corresponds neatly with the starting dates of civilizations that seem to spring up from out of nowhere in Sumer, Egypt, India and further east in China. Mênes was the first Egyptian Pharaoh to unite Upper and Lower Egypt starting the 1st Dynastic Period dated around 3,100 BC – 3,200 BC defining the apex of Egyptian civilization. On the Atlantic side of the globe, early Mayan and Mesoamerica civilizations took off as well with new monolith constructions at Palenque, Mexico.
Sitchin own viewpoint is that Mayan 2012 prophecies hold no particular significance, and does not mark the return date for Nibiru often referred to as Planet X.
John Van Auken of the Association of Research and Enlightenment, Virginia Beach, Virginia identifies the world ages as 1) Age of the Jaguar, 2) Age of Water or the Fish, 3) Age of Fire, 4) Age of Turkeys, 5) Age of Movement, 6) Age of Spirit of All Living Things, and 7) Age of Melting Into Oneness Again! He believes that we are ending the Age of Movement on December 21, 2012, the image in the center of the Aztec Sun Disk surrounded by four diagonal squares, entering the Fifth Sun or Age of Spirit of All Living Things after which we will enter the last and final Age of Melting into Oneness Again. He does not offer dates for when the sixth or seventh world age will end, but notes that Nostradamus saw into the future well up to 3797 AD.
AZTEC AGES OR SUN GODS The idea that December 21, 2012 may bring the end of the world is based on the Aztec Sun Disk that shows 5 ages or sun gods. The first Sun god Tezcatlipoca took the form of a jaguar and destroyed the world. The world was destroyed by a great wind when the reign of the second Sun god, Quetzalcoatl, came to an end. Tlaloc was the third Sun god, but Questzalcoatl wasn’t happy and made fire rain down causing destruction and the end of the age. The fourth Sun god was Chalchiuhtlicue (lady of the jade skirts), the goddess of water – lakes and streams. The fighting gods caused a flood to destroy the Earth. The fifth Sun were two gods, Tecciztecatl and Nanauatl. The gods decided that the first to offer his life in a blazing fire would be Sun god. Both jumped in creating two Suns (bianry stars) that shun brightly. The gods wouldn’t stand for this, so they threw a rabbit into the face of Tecciztecatl to dim his brightness. And so he became the moon, doomed to chase the sun forever, but never to shine as bright.
MAYAN LONG COUNT CALENDAR The date of origin of the Mayan Long Count calendar is August 11, 3114 BC, representing a cycle of 13 Baktuns which ends on December 21, 2012. But the real meaning of the ending of this cycle is open to debate since most of the records and inscriptions which were written by the Mayans in the Classical period (250 BC – 900 AD) that would have given us an unequivocal understanding of what the closing of this stage or heaven truly means were destroyed by Europeans who conquered the Americas during 15th and 16th centuries.
Contemporary Mayans living in the Yucatan, Mexico and the greater part of northern Peru and Central America believe that when this world ends, possibly through annihilation or destruction around December 21, 2012, another world shall begin! Will this renewal come from Super Gods as Cotterrell maintains is unknown.
Contemporary Mayans also believe that each world age was part of an evolutionary cycle designed to perfect life in the world. They believed that man’s perfection will be achieved at the end of this world age. In their view, the world will not end suddenly in 2012. Man will be recreated anew! There will be a new beginning after the end of this world age to allow life to continue, only that the new world will be very different from the one in which we live. These views are very much in line with the spirit, myths and cosmology mastered by Mayans living on the Classical period, but they are not rooted in any specific Stela or inscription found at Mayan archaeological sites that can be quoted authoritatively. Part of the reason for this is that Mayan prophecies and cosmology is still part of a secret order of Mayan elders who use the oral tradition of passing knowledge and wisdom from one generation to another.
Maurice Cotterrell argues against ideas proposed by John Major Jenkins that the winter equinox of 2012 shall come into direct alignment with the Galactic Center. Cotterrell believes that this is not accurate nor is it scientifically valid. If any such alignment were to take place it would not occur at a single moment in time because of the vast area that the center of the galaxy represents, which is still under debate by scientists. The Sun’s crossing of the galactic center would most likely take a greater period of time exceeding the proposed 36 years advocated by proponents of this theory.
In Cotterrell’s viewpoint, it is impossible to accurately calculate the line for the galactic elliptic. To do so would require knowing the mass of the galaxy, a task which science has not yet undertaken. Proponents of this argument claim that the Sun will cross an imaginary galactic elliptic, that is only a guess, between 1980 and 2016, which includes December 21, 2012 as one of those dates robbing it of its mystical Mayan Long Count calendar meaning and significance.
For the Mayans, the dark rift near the center of the Milky Way galaxy marks the black road to the underworld. This is visualized as a celestial mouth akin to the vagina from which new life emerges. The emergence of Lord Xibalba is synonymous with birth. The appearance of the Sun from the dark rift would be a natural point in Mayan cosmology indicative of a new beginning from some ending point. December 21, 2012 seems to suggest that some ending of the current world order will take place around this date triggering a renewal of life on Earth shortly thereafter.
Many cultures celebrate winter solstice as the death, burial and resurrection of the Sun. On the 20th of December the Sun is mythical killed (stops in the sky), buried on the 21st (stationary on the elliptic), and resurrected on the 22nd (increase in declination moving towards the summer solstice).
There is no shortage of ideas, opinions and speculations of what will happen when the Mayan Long Count calendar ends on December 21, 2012, which has fed a frenzy of news stories, articles and media publications!
Nevertheless, when you closely examine the Mayan Calendar system, some interesting facts emerge that tie into cycles found in nature. For example, the 400-year Baktun cycle is equivalent to the amount of time it takes the Earth’s core to rotate around a fixed point on the surface. The twenty-year Katun cycle corresponds to the time it takes the Earth’s magnetic field to rotate around a fixed point on the surface.
The Mayan Calendar allowed them to accurately record the cycles of other planets. Venus was particularly important to the Mayans. Its dual rising in the east and the west forms a Vesica Piscis representing the incarnation of spirit into matter, which is the basis of all life on planet Earth. Being the brightest celestial object in the night sky, Venus is associated with the star of Bethlehem.
MAYAN PROPHECIES FOR 2012 Mayan 2012 prophecies that relate to the Mayan Long Count calendar come from The Book of Chilam Balam of Tizimin. These prophecies state that:
“In the final days of misfortunes, in the final days of tying up the bundle of the thirteen (baktuns) … then the end of the world shall come and the baktun of our fathers will ascend on high.”
“Presently the Baktuns thirteen shall come sailing… Then the god will come to visit his little ones. Perhaps ‘after death’ will be the subject of his discourse.
“These little valleys of the earth shall come to an end. For those katuns (7,200 days) there shall be no priests, and no one believes in his government without having doubts”.
Don Alejandro Cirillo is the elected leader of the National Mayan Council of Elders of Guatemala and a thirteenth generation Quiche priest. He believes that 2012 shall be characterized by major earth changes, probably earthquakes and floods, but most significantly by a darkening of the Sun that will last many days where electricity will fail, crops will fail and we will not be able to buy clean water, fresh food or fresh air. When the Sun returns, this will signal the start of a new world age.
2012 is expected to bring about the fifth world of creation, marked by the return of ether, the fifth element allowing for the fusion of polarities changing forever the nature of material things and the start of the fifth root race according to Edgar Cayce.
Some researchers believe that when the boundary of the galactic plane is reached, you get a kind of Coriolis Effect, changing or reversing the resonance we experience coming from the galactic center.
The Mayans calculated the orbit of Venus with amazing accuracy and detail. Venus transits the Sun in pairs of transit 8 years apart. On June 6, 2012 Venus will transit the Sun. Venus last transited the Sun on June 8, 2004. In 2004, Ronald Reagan died three days before the Venus transit took place on June 8th. And two days after the transit, the beloved Ray Charles passed away as well.
The Mayans considered the first appearance of Venus as an evil omen and considered it to be a good day for warfare. They viewed the transit as the warrior twin of Venus. The first sighting of the morning star that was frequently represented by bloody situations. The Mayans glyph for the Venus transit shows the Chief holding the severed heads of his enemy with blood trailing from the victim’s neck.
Prior to June 2004 transit, the last transit occurred in 1761 and 1769. Future Venus-Sun transits will occur in December 2117 and December 2125.
EARTHQUAKE PREDICTIONS FOR 2012 Major Earthquake coming for North America at about 8.0 magnitude. Once this earthquake strikes the west coast of California, they shall not stop. The eastern side of the Pacific Ring of Fire shall become activated forcing people to move from California to Arizona and adjoining states. Watch the San Joaquin Valley! This earthquake is likely to send oil and food prices soaring, triggering massive inflation and collapse of the dollar.
A major earthquake shall also strike Northwest, USA in the Montana/Wyoming/Colorado area east of the Rockies!
6.1 – 6.6 million people shall be overtaken by earthquakes.
Florida shall come under heavy flooding around June 2012.
USGS world earthquake activity map on the Internet shall show lots of earthquakes striking all over the world, all at the same time, throughout Asia, Middle East, and Europe in an almost even-spaced distribution! These earthquakes shall range from 5.0 to 7.0 magnitude.
POLE SHIFT Some researchers believe that we may experience a reversal of the Sun’s polarity that may trigger the possible reversal of the Earth’s magnetic field, which all could be triggered by a celestial phenomenon coming from out of the dark region of the Milky Way Galaxy.
NEPTUNE IN PISCES Neptune ingress of the astrological sign of Pisces on February 4th, 2012 promises to fulfill the meaning of the word ‘Maya,’ which means illusion. Illusion is a veil of consciousness. Being the ruler of the mutable signs, Neptune sits on the rim of the known versus the unknown. It promises that we shall have new thoughts and ideas of things that we have never thought of before. The mysteries of Mayan prophecies and 2012 predictions shall be revealed to us as time marches on, but few if any will have their expectations met on what Mayan 2012 prophecy and cosmology is all about. One thing is almost certain, as we move through 2012 to meet 2013 and 2014, the Mayan Long Count calendar shall give birth and impetus to a new string of research and understanding that shall transform our understanding of astrology, astronomy and cosmology forever!
LOOKING AHEAD
Much of the current world order is crumbling; the environment is under attack. In almost every sphere of life things seems to be falling apart. It is self evident that we are reaching an ending of some sort, a point of crisis if you wish – terminal saturation according to Riley Martin!
At a minimum, Mayan 2012 prophecy assurance us that a new world is coming, that there shall be a new beginning, a new dawning and new recreation of the current world order. Our role and place in that world is unknown. We saw what happened to the Mayans, how they were brutally treated by their conquerors. We also saw what happened to just about every other civilization since the dawn of creation. Case in point, the Library of Alexandria; how those precious, irreplaceable books were burned three times over the course of history just to extinguish their light. The people of enlightenment throughout the ages and the history of the world since the start of the Mayan Long Count calendar in 3114 BC have all been under attack and most have been destroyed. No period was more destructive than the Age of Pisces (55 BC to 1781 AD) that brought us into total darkness and complete utter ignorance. Conquerors hate light, they hate to assimilate or learn from those whom they conquer. There is no reason to believe that we will be spared similar fate, catastrophes, annihilation or destruction. Nothing under the Sun gives us that divine right and privilege. It seems to be the path of nature to destroy and recreate.
At best, we can look around and observe what is dying and what is on the rise in our personal life and in society. We have lost faith in government. Pastors and priests no longer serve us anymore. Money is abundant but not evenly distributed. In the abundance of great wealth, people and animals are dying and suffering. Technology is on the rise. How will the blessings and seed of technology become our worst nightmare in the future? Already this is expressing itself in the unemployment lines. There needs to be a realignment of values. But how will this come about? Who will start it? What will trigger a realignment of the global society? These are the unanswered questions that Mayan 2012 prophecies beg us to ponder.
CONCLUSION We have reached a point in time where oil, money and technology can no longer sustain us. Venus transit of the Sun shall demand that we seek the natural order questioning intensively the road upon which we have traveled since the fall in 9,500 B.C. We have moved out of the Golden Age, the Garden of Eden of prehistory and have developed a profound understanding and control of natural forces and have uniquely developed the capacity to dominate and extinguish all life forms on planet Earth. On the verge of committing ecocide, we have become the agent of death for the world’s ecological system. Who or what shall become our agent of death other than ourselves? Within the twinkling of an eye we have become space travelers embarking on a planetary and cosmic journey of inter-galactic dimensions.
Mayan Long Count calendar and predictions ask us to question our role in the universe and on the planet in particular. We can no longer hide from the enormous burdens and responsibilities that the new age demands of us as individuals or as a society. Mayan 2012 prophecies demand that we pay close attention to detail least we delude ourselves into believing that we are in any way, shape or form different from our brothers and sisters that walk this Earth or any of the creatures of the land, air and seas that live in the flesh.
We are on the cusp of our own evolutionary path that shall lead to a higher human form that is now in the process of being changed or re-birthed! Since our creation, but more accurately, since the event of the Flood, we have been in the midst of two different evolutionary paths: one of the masters of space and time and the other of the extinct hominids that preceded us. As time marches on, we are slowly and slowly being disconnected from the path of the sky gods and native hominids, and more and more we are coming into our own being of who we are and were intended to be. Hence, the development of man is not complete, and for this we must press on and be prepared to endure a lot!
From meditations and prayers, the messages for 2012 are: continuous clearing and shielding of lower energies is essential right now. Do this daily. Shield yourself vigilantly. The dichotomy of darkness and light is at a peak right now, like high noon when the shadows appear the darkest. The darkness has an effect similar to ticks upon a dog, and must be addressed and not ignored . . . or it will grow bigger. Don’t fear the darkness, as this just gives fuel and power to it (which in spiritual truth is nothingness). The darkness is afraid because it knows that its time to rule is drawing to a close. We must also devote daily time to praying for everyone’s abundance, health, and happiness. Your contribution to the light is essential right now. Everyone’s participation in acknowledging the non-material world is essential. Daily prayer for world peace is extremely helpful. You can make a huge positive difference by praying for everyone.

2011 was a year of weird news, and sitting on the cusp of 2012, it’s time to look back on the odd year that was — as well as look ahead to a year that promises a new level of strangeness.
Monster sightings in 2011: Researchers looking in Siberia for the yeti — the Asian version of North America’s Bigfoot — claimed in October to have found “indisputable proof” of the long-sought mystery beast. The Russian team, which included several American scientists, located some odd footprints, as well as some gray hairs in a cave. About a month later, a member of the expedition, biologist John Bindernagel, claimed his group found even more evidence, including nests and shelters made of tree branches twisted together. However, another member of the same group reported finding evidence of hoaxing and branded the whole expedition a publicity stunt.
2011 was also the year that the mystery of the chupacabra, the Hispanic vampire beast, was solved, after some 15 years of mystery. DNA testing on dead “chupacabras” found in Texas and elsewhere revealed them to be mostly dogs and coyotes afflicted with mange, and the legendary creature’s origin was traced back to a 1995 monster movie instead of any real-life encounter.
Monsters to look for in 2012: Will the yeti footprints and hair samples finally reveal the truth? If the claims made by the Russian expedition are not hype or hoax, then perhaps the world will finally get definitive proof of the long-rumored creature. Surely after so many decades of ambiguous sightings and searches, hard evidence of Bigfoot or the yeti is long overdue. As for the chupacabra, people in North America and elsewhere will continue to find mangy dogs and coyotes and assume the unfortunate beasties are chupacabras.
Doomsday predictions made in 2011: The year began on an ominous note when fundamentalist Harold Camping, leader of the ministry Family Radio Worldwide, concluded after careful study of the Bible that the world would end May 21. The announcement made national news, and concerned many believers. Camping and his followers were embarrassed when May 21 came and went without a hitch, and he eventually admitted there must have been a miscalculation somewhere. Camping moved the date back a few months, concluding that October was the real month Armageddon would begin. That doomsday date came and went, as well, and the only thing destroyed was Camping’s credibility.
Doomsdays to prepare for in 2012: The upcoming year is certain to bring more concerns about doomsdays and apocalypse — not necessarily from Bible-thumping evangelicals but (supposedly) from the ancient Mayans, whose calendar “ends” next year. Some New Agers think the world will end along with the end of the Mayan calendar cycle; others believe a new age of global peace and harmony will emerge. For other groups, the concern isn’t so much the calendar date but a collision between Earth and the mysterious (and nonexistent) planet Niburu. Of course, people have been predicting doomsdays for millennia, and while nary one has come to pass, one day, sooner or later, the prognosticators will be right.
UFOs and aliens spotted in 2011: The summer of 2011 was an especially busy period for UFO sightings, according to an organization that tracks such reports. The Mutual UFO Network noted that sightings in some states more than doubled their usual numbers. The group could not explain the apparent increase, saying that it could be real, or possibly just a computer error.
As the reports of sightings soared, so did the lights in the skies. In early October more than a dozen strange lights were seen over the northern Utah city of Washington Terrace just after 11:30 p.m. They emitted a strange, fiery glow as they headed north at an estimated speed of about 70 mph, according to one eyewitness. The lights puzzled the public and police and had the UFO community buzzing. Finally, students at the local Bonneville High School admitted they had launched 16 lit Chinese lanterns that night; the lanterns had been reported as UFOs.
UFOs and aliens to look out for in 2012: There’s some reason to believe UFO sightings will continue at the same rate, or even increase, through 2012. UFO reports historically occur in clusters or “flaps.” And reports could be on the rise because more and more people carry cellphones with built-in cameras, making it easier than ever to report a potential sighting.
A few sightings tend to encourage even more sightings. Will extraterrestrials finally make their presence clearly known, landing on the White House lawn or staying still long enough to get some clear, sharp photos or videos? That’s been the hope and promise of UFO believers for decades now.
As we head inexorably toward 2012, we decided to look back at some of the strangest mysteries of this past year, and some of the mysteries that remain with us as we enter the new year.
5 “Unexplained” Mysteries Solved in 2011
The Jerusalem UFO Video
Just a few weeks into 2011 a stunning UFO video circulated around the world. On Jan. 28, a mysterious glowing light hovered high above the Dome of the Rock, an ancient Islamic shrine in Jerusalem.
It was touted as possibly the best video ever taken of an extraterrestrial spacecraft — made all the more apparently authentic because it was captured by at least two other people at the same time, from different angles. When the videos appeared on YouTube UFO interest was whipped into a frenzy; as Ian O’Neill noted,“The news headlines read: “Holy Smoke — UFO in Jerusalem,” “Dome of the Rock Jerusalem light all proof UFO fans need that aliens exist” and “Credible? Jerusalem UFO footage captured from multiple viewpoints.”
Skeptical analyses soon suggested that the video had been faked, but true believers insisted that the videos were legitimate. Finally in March even MUFON, an organization dedicated to proving extraterrestrial visitation, joined the skeptics in branding the whole thing a hoax. Eventually even most diehard UFO believers grudgingly acknowledged that it had been faked.
The Mysterious Magnetic Boy
While the Internet was still abuzz with chatter about the Jerusalem UFO, another weird mystery emerged in February, from the country of Serbia. A seven-year-old boy named Bogdan made international news for his (apparently) paranormal ability to be “magnetic.”
According to MSNBC and The Daily Mail, household objects such as spoons, knives, and forks stuck to his skin with almost supernatural ease. Even stranger, other things stuck to him too, such as small plates and small flat glass objects. It was quite an unexplained mystery — until it was pointed out that whatever made the items to stick Bogdan’s bare skin, it was not magnetism, since many of the times were non-metallic. The mysterious ability was in fact due to simple skin friction.
The Beast of Gévaudan
Of all the monsters said to roam the earth, perhaps none was more feared than a mysterious creature that terrorized the French countryside in the 1760s. This monstrous Beast of Gévaudan, as it became known, killed peasants, farmers, and shepherds with impunity, often leaving its scores of victims a gory mess.
The identity of this monster has been a source of wild speculation, especially in France, for over two centuries. Many believe it was a werewolf; others say it was some sort of supernatural demon (owing to the fact that legends said could not be stopped by bullets); still others insist it was a serial killer (an early French Jack the Ripper).
The mystery has been told many times, including in the 2001 thriller film Brotherhood of the Wolf. In 2011 the mystery was finally solved; historian Jay M. Smith, in his book Monsters of the Gévaudan, convincingly showed that there actually was no singular Beast of Gévaudan responsible for the deaths, as widely assumed; in fact the killings were consistent with wolf attacks.
The Chupacabra
The Beast of Gévaudan was not the only monster mystery finally solved in 2011. Since the mid-1990s, people around the world (and especially in Puerto Rico and Latin America) have reported a bizarre vampire beast which became known as the chupacabra (Spanish for “goat sucker,” since it was said to drain blood out of small animals including goats). According to the first eyewitness, the chupacabra had two legs, stood 4 to 5 feet tall, and had spikes down its back.
The monster had long, thin arms and legs, and an alien-like head with red or black eyes. Later alleged chupacabras found in America (mostly Texas and New Mexico) turned out to be diseased dogs, foxes, and coyotes. Though widely believed to be a real creature, the chupacabra mystery was finally solved when the original eyewitness — whose description became the “standard” chupacabra image — was shown to have confused a monster from the 1995 horror thriller Species for something she saw in real life.
The Russian ET
In April, just a few months after the amazing UFO video footage over Jerusalem came out, a video of what appeared to be an extraterrestrial alien body recovered in Russia set off a new furor among UFO believers in the blogosphere. According to one story in The Daily Mail, “On its side with its mouth slightly agape, the slender, badly damaged body lies half-buried in snow close to Irkutsk, Russia.
Video of the alien’s corpse has become a massive worldwide hit with hundreds of thousands of followers after being posted on the internet. The corpse of the badly-damaged creature which resembles ET is two feet high. Part of the right leg is missing and there are deep holes for eyes and a mouth in a skull-like head.” The video’s authenticity was fiercely debated for weeks, until finally two Russian teens confessed to the hoax; police found the “alien” hidden in one of the teen’s bedrooms.
5 Unexplained Mysteries Entering 2012
Though a variety of old and new mysteries were solved in 2011, many more mysteries remain unexplained as we begin 2012. Here are five.
Mysterious Bee Deaths
The collapse of bee colonies has worried biologists for years. Since 2006, between 20 percent and 40 percent of the bee colonies in the United States have suffered massive die-outs called “colony collapse.” Many explanations have been proposed, ranging from pesticides to cell phone signals to climate change. As Discovery’s Liz Day noted, “scientists are fingering their latest culprit in the dramatic disappearance of honeybees: a fungus and virus team… The virus affects bees’ abdomens, often turning their tissues a purplish tone. The fungus, which also targets the bees’ guts, is called Nosema ceranae. Combined, it seems the duo prevent bees from getting enough nutrition.”
Though scientists have some important clues, a conclusive answer to the mystery remains elusive. Correlation does not imply causation, and just because all of the collapsed colonies had the virus and the gut fungus does not mean that the combination necessarily caused the bees to die; the presence of either one alone does not lead to colony collapse. How these cause colony collapse — if in fact they do — remains unknown.
Faster Than Light Experiments
In September 174 physicists at the CERN laboratory announced that they had shot particles between Switzerland and Italy at really high speeds. After three years of experiments and analysis, the team concluded that the neutrinos they fired arrived in Italy at one 17-millionth of a second earlier than expected. Now, one 17-millionth of a second doesn’t seem like a big deal; the issue was that, if confirmed, that speed would be faster than light — which definitely is a big deal.
The experiment was run again in November, and to the consternation of many (and the delight of some) they got the same result. Further experiments are necessary to know whether there was a miscalculation somewhere, or whether Einstein’s theory of relativity has a big hole in it. Perhaps 2012 will reveal the answer.
The Impact of the BP Oil Spill
What will be the impact of the 2010 BP oil spill that poured almost 5 million barrels into the Gulf of Mexico? Scientists still don’t know the answer. The initial predictions, from both the public and scientists, were dire: the ecosystem would be destroyed for the foreseeable future, devastating not only the wildlife but the local economy and tourism. Timemagazine revisited the Gulf states in 2011, concluding that “nearly a year after the spill began, it seems clear that the worst-case scenario never came true. It’s not that the oil spill had no lasting effects — far from it — but the ecological doomsday many predicted clearly hasn’t taken place…. the damage does seem so far to have been less than feared.
Scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimated last August that much of the oil had remained in the Gulf, where it had dispersed or dissolved. Many environmentalists attacked the report for underplaying the threat of large underwater oil plumes still active in the Gulf, yet later independent scientific studies indeed found that oil had “largely disappeared from the water.” Still, oil sludge continues to be found on beaches and the ocean floor. Amid the dueling reports and accusations of bias one thing is clear: as we enter 2012 the long-term effects from the largest oil spill in U.S. history remain unknown.
Extraterrestrial Life on Earth-Like Planets?
Are we alone in the universe? It’s an age-old question that remains unexplained despite advances and discoveries in the past few years, and the idea got tremendous support in 2011. In January it was announced that the Kepler Space Telescope had found the first hard evidence of a rocky planet beyond the solar system: Kepler-10b, an exoplanet about one and a half times the size of Earth.
Though its surface is thought to be too hot to sustain life as we know it, astronomers suspect that it could have sustained life at some point in the past. That discovery came only a few months after scientists reported finding a planet called Gliese 581g, which is at just the right size and location to be hospitable for life. Then in December came the announcement that a planet with the unremarkable moniker Kepler 22b had been found: “A planet about twice the size of Earth has been confirmed to exist right in the middle of the ‘habitable zone’ around its star, which is much like our own… this is the first time such a life-friendly alien planet has been confirmed.”
Each year the scientific community finds more and more potential Earth-like bodies, yet proof of extraterrestrial life remains elusive. When it comes to knowing whether there’s life elsewhere in the universe, the question remains an unsolved mystery.
Will 2012 Bring Doomsday?
Many people have suggested that the year 2012 will bring some sort of significant global change, either in the form of catastrophic disaster or perhaps a new age of enlightenment (as in what was supposed to have happened during the so-called Harmonic Convergence in 1987). Some tie in the 2012 doomsday idea to the end of the Mayan calendar, which seems to have no more or less significance than our Gregorian calendar “ending” on December 31.
Ancient Mayans never believed the world would end in 2012 — and even if they had, it’s not clear why their doomsday predictions would be any more accurate than the thousands of previous failed prophecies. (For example in 2011 preacher Harold Camping famously claimed that the world would end in May, and again in October; at last report he was wrong.)
Others are less worried about a calendar’s expiration date than about what they see as more science-based threats, such as a collision with a (non-existent) planet called Niburu, or a predicted increase in solar flare activity next year which could potentially fry the world’s power grids. Will these predictions and concerns come true? Time will tell.

In these times, we need to expand our minds and out consciousness. This means that we need to let go of a lot of old stuff, old patterns, ideas, ideals, relationships, manners, styles, etc., etc., etc. This is never easy, but there is so much help available right now. Help comes in all different forms and formats. This is not a time for taking small things for granted. Messages appear on the wind, out of the mouths of babes, in Freudian Slips, synchronicity, to name a few. The most important thing is, as always, to look within, to go to your heart center, to be at one with your Core Self. You and I and everyone and everything are Universal Consciousness knowing itself in all the myriad forms. It is play. We take on roles and personae. Just as easily, we can try something new. That is all part of transition. It is a process, an huge process. Perspective comes with the knowing process.
This is not a time for fear, but joy. Fear fears joy for joy sees the wonder, beauty, synergy, and plan in everything. Joy lives above the mundane. Fear attempts to meld the mundane into something destructive and dangerous. To laugh in the face of these illusions is to know your power. And to approach all with love is to be your fulfilled self.
