Earthquake Activity in Ardeche, France

Quake Flash report : 2 moderate earthquakes are frightening the touristic Ardèche area in France

At 02:00 and at 03:36, 2 very shallow earthquakes have frightened people in the greater Nimes are. The quake was felt very well as it was very close to the surface (2 km).
The epicenter of this earthquake was almost below Barjac, a village of 1,500 people.
The quakes epicenter is located in a very busy touristic area of France, Ardèche.
Earthquake-Report.com does not expect any serious damage from this earthquake.

Tornado Hits Russia

(TheWeatherSpace.com) — One person was killed and nearly thirty injured when a powerful tornado hits Eastern Russia.

Blagoveshchensk, a city in far-eastern Russia, was hit by a powerful tornado on Sunday. This tornado tore roofs from houses, turned over vehicles, took down trees, and broke windows in many buildings.

A state of emergency has been issued for this area by the local authorities.

X Class Solar Flares to Impact Earth 8/5

X-Class flares imminent with a solar storm on August 5th along with increased large quakes

(TheWeatherSpace.com) — The Sun has put out a major M-class flare directly at the planet and this will cause a solar storm on August 5th as the Sun remains unstable enough for X-class flares.

Sunspot groups on the Sun are facing the Earth and these harbor the energy for X-class flares. Major solar flares are likely from the Sun and latest magnetic field readings show one is about to erupt from the region toward the planet.

One has already erupted within the past 24 hours. Models indicate a direct hit on the Earth on and around August 5th.

“We will see an increase in earthquakes,” said TWS Senior Meteorologist Kevin Martin. “This will impact the planet hard and looking at the past events we will see a worldwide event of larger quakes.”

Martin has been following up on his solar flare vs earthquake trigger research for quite sometime and has tied numerous events to the link.

Heads up, East Coast. El Niño-related weather could get even worse in the future, according to a new study.

The coastal communities, already threatened by rising sea levels due toclimate change, may also see more destructive storm surges from these higher waters in future El Niño years, a new study by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says. A destructive storm surge is where storms cause water levels to rapidly increase by at least 1 foot (0.3 meters).

The study was prompted by an unusual number of destructive storm surges along the East Coast during the 2009-2010 El Niño-dominated winter.

Is the Massive Puerto Rico Trench Awakening?

“What Puerto Rico Trench?”  Exactly.

The arrows in the map above show the direction the underlying Caribbean tectonic plates are moving, with the resultant build-up of pressure releasing into a myrid of earthquakes in the region over the years. Puerto Rico is the smaller green island in the middle, with the Dominican Republic the larger island to the left. The string of other Caribbean islands is buried under the earthquake markers that flow down the page to the lower right.

You can see the Puerto Rico Trench wraps around the entire zone.

A few little known facts came to the fore as I was researching this area after spotting the recent increase in seismic activity in the Caribbean region.

1. The Puerto Rico Trench is the biggest and deepest such trench in the entire Atlantic ocean.

2. This trench is capable of producing 8.0 earthquakes and above.

3. The risk of a major quake, underwater landslide and mega tsunami are as great as that of the Seattle area. In fact, one recent risk assessment put it at 35 to 55%!

4. The zone hasn’t ruptured in over 200 years and that has geologists seriously concerned.

Mt. Etna Erupts Again

SPECTACULAR ERUPTIONS AT ITALY’S ETNA

A brief summary:

Etna has experienced a number of eruptive episodes over the last 2 weeks – paroxysms as they are called by Dr. Boris Behncke. Some were quite small, while others have been downright amazing, with towering (upwards of 350-m tall) fire fountains from the Southeast Crater of the volcano. Others have produced lava flows on the volcano and ash fall as well. This activity brings the grand total of episodes that Etna has experienced this year to 8, making 2011 quite an active year for the Sicilian volcano.

The latest eruptive episode started on July 30. You can check out some video from the eruption (courtesy of Dr. Behncke) that shows just how impressive this latest activity is – producing fire fountains upwards of 500 meters (half a kilometers) and a large lava flow that is flowing down the flanks of the volcano (see above). The sound from the eruption is like a jet engine, proving just how much force is behind the lava as it erupts from the vent.

Earthquake Overview : A very strong shallow magnitude 6.8  earthquake occurred close to the coast of Papua New Guinea on Monday August 1 at 9:38 local time.  Soon after the earthquake, the Pacific tsunami and Warning Center issued a statement that NO widespread tsunami is expected from this earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake is only 6 km from Bam (Biem) volcano island, an island populated by approx. 2,000 indigenous people.

(TheWeatherSpace.com) — A tropical wave is moving westward toward the Puerto Rico areas this week which could be the next named system, Emily.

TWS Senior Meteorologist Kevin Martin warned the Caribbean and interests in Florida of a Cape Verde wave he saw over Africa on July 13th, which would eject out of Africa on the 24th and finally into the Caribbean around this time, the first week of August. (View that story here)

“What will be Emily is what I warned almost three weeks ago,” said Martin. “When I make a forecast that far out I tend to forget I did. Many do because this was three weeks ago. This system should impact Puerto Rico and move through Haiti, finally heading into the Bahamas by Friday and curving away from the USA just east of Florida.”

July 30 New Moon

Leo New Moon: July 30, 2011
The New Moon in Leo has arrived, and with it comes our moment to awaken courage in our hearts and stoke the fires of unconditional love. This New Moon is the top of a Yod  that activates and deepens the powers of the sextile between Pluto in Capricorn and Neptune/Chiron in Pisces. Yods are great directors of our energy, so this year’s Leo phase is full of fire and creativity. Venus in 3 Leo is moving toward the Sun, so the goddess inspires the flames of wisdom. Also, the New Moon conjuncts the lunar North Node in the USA’s founding chart (1776), so this heart opening reveals deep implications for Americans. Many now realize that time acceleration is a real influence; things are going so fast that most people can’t remember what happened last week. Well, this New Moon is the hot match that ignites the voracious field of constant change.
Day Five opens July 31, one day after this New Moon, when the new world we’re creating will be in its budding phase. Day Five of the National was 40-434 AD, when Roman Christianity was adopted in the West. Therefore, radical shifts in Christianity are very likely in August, such as the exposure of Josef Ratzinger’s lack of concern about child abuse in the Church. [See The Pope’s War by Matthew Fox.] Day Five is when the new creations become visible, so this Leo lunation may be the most influential one during the Universal Underworld. Let’s also note that Night Five opens August 18, a few days after the August 13 Full Moon in Aquarius, during this lunation cycle. Night Five is when we see the greatest destruction of the old systems that have to go, and the Aquarius Full Moon is equipped to do so. It forms a mutable grand square with Mars in 7 Cancer closely opposing Pluto in 5 Capricorn; and both are squared by Uranus in 4 Aries opposing the asteroid Juno in 5 Libra. (Saturn in 13 Libra is a partial influence in this grand square as well.) Events triggered by this potent configuration will force the world to see that the nuclear, financial, and Middle Eastern abuses are destroying our planet. Of course, famine and climate stress are also building. What do you expect when the planet is used for human disposal because supposedly God told our ancestors to use Earth for the chosen ones?
