Amino Acid Treatment for Reversal of Tooth Decay

Researchers at the University of Leeds have developed a peptide-based fluid known as P 11-4. When applied to a decayed tooth, P 11-4 forms a gel-like scaffold that attracts calcium to help rebuild your tooth. As the University of Leeds reported in a press release:

“In practice, this means that when applied to the tooth, the fluid seeps into the micro-pores caused by acid attack and then spontaneously forms a gel. This gel then provides a ‘scaffold’ or framework that attracts calcium and regenerates the tooth’s mineral from within, providing a natural and pain-free repair.”

When the fluid was tested on a small group of adults with early tooth decay, results showed P 11-4 successfully reversed the damage and regenerated tooth tissue. This is the latest data from what appears to be a promising new dental strategy. Similarly, in 2008 scientists were also able torebuild dentin and remineralize some parts of the teeth with the help of a calcium-containing solution of ions.

Regenerating your tooth from within is a far superior option to the “drill-and-fill” model currently used today, and it appears to be a technique that may soon be widely available in dentists’ offices. Aside from the obvious benefit of tooth regeneration while sparing people the pain and fear of having a tooth drilled, this new procedure could virtually obliterate the use of toxic mercury fillings (if our efforts don’t get them banned first!) …

If You Have a Cavity, Resist This Archaic Dental Procedure

The very process of “filling and drilling” a cavity is a rather outdated practice, but so far there has been no other practical solution to remove the damaged areas of a tooth and “repair” it. But, adding insult to injury, about 50 percent of U.S. dentists are still using mercury to fill cavity-ridden teeth — even though exposure to mercury, the most toxic and more vaporous of the heavy metals, can harm your kidneys, permanently damage your child’s developing neurological system, and even kill your unborn child in the womb!

To implant amalgam, a dentist drills out healthy tooth matter in order to carve the crater necessary for amalgam placement — a primitive process that irreversibly weakens tooth structure. With a damaged tooth structure and with a metal-based filling that expands and contracts with temperature changes, teeth with amalgam are much more likely to crack years later, necessitating additional dental work.

Amalgams are quick and easy. Dentists make more money per chair per day implanting mercury. For factory-style dentistry, where teeth represent dollar signs instead of part of a human being, dentists drill, fill, and bill. The term “drill, fill, and bill” is a joke aspiring dentists learn in dental school. But when it comes to mercury – it’s no joke. Please realize that mercury vapor from amalgams passes readily through your cell membranes, across the blood-brain barrier, and into your central nervous system, where it can cause psychological, neurological, and immunological problems.

Yet, even though it may be a few years before P 11-4 and other tooth-regenerating fluids are widely available, there are solid alternatives to mercury fillings available right now. One of the most popular is resin composite, which is made of a type of plastic reinforced with powdered glass. Unlike amalgam, resin composite does not require the removal of significant amounts of healthy tooth matter. Over the long term, composite preserves healthy tooth structure and actually strengthens teeth, leading to better oral health and less extensive dental work over the long-term.

A lesser-known alternative is atraumatic restorative treatment (also called alternative restorative treatment or ART), which relies on adhesive materials for the filling (instead of mercury) and uses only hand instruments to place the filling, making it particularly well-suited for rural areas of developing countries.

Preventing Cavities 101: The Secret to Healthy Teeth

Tooth regeneration is certainly a step up from using toxic substances like mercury to fill your teeth. But do you know what’s evenbetter than tooth regeneration? Protecting your teeth and preventing cavities in the first place.

When it comes to oral hygiene and preventing cavities, there’s a virtual war going on. If you listen to conventional health agencies’ and your dentist’s advice, you may still believe that fluoride is the answer.

Think again!

The only way you can believe this misguided advice is if you completely ignore the science. Good oral health and strong, healthy teeth are NOT the result of drinking fluoridated water and brushing your teeth with fluoridated toothpaste. Rather it’s all about your diet.

Dr. Weston A. Price, who was one of the major nutritional pioneers of all time, completed some of the most incredible research on this topic back in the 1900s, and it is still very much relevant today. What he found, and documented in his classic book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, is that native tribes who were eating their traditional diet had nearly perfect teeth, and were almost 100 percent free of tooth decay — and they did not have toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste, or root canals and fillings.

But when these tribal populations were introduced to sugar and white flour, guess what happened … their health, and their perfect teeth, rapidly deteriorated. By avoiding sugars and processed foods, you prevent the proliferation of the bacteria that cause decay in the first place.

Most people whose diet includes very little sugar and few processed foods have very low rates of tooth decay. So the simple act of limiting, or eliminating sugar, and avoiding processed foods — along with regular cleanings with your natural mercury-free dentist — will ensure that your teeth and gums stay healthy and cavity-free naturally.

More About Artificial Sweeteners

Avoiding Artificial Sweeteners? This Study Will Surprise You…

Posted By Dr. Mercola | September 20 2011

By Dr. Mercola

For those of you who are aware of the health dangers posed by artificial sweeteners and dutifully avoid them, the featured study findings may come as a shocking surprise…

Researchers have found that the artificial sweetener sucralose (Splenda) is a widespread contaminant in waste water, surface water, and ground water. In a recent test, water samples from 19 U.S. drinking water treatment plants serving more than 28 million people were analyzed for sucralose. The sweetener was found to be present in:

  • The source water of 15 out of 19 of drinking water treatment plants tested
  • The finished water of 13 out of 17 plants, and
  • In 8 out of 12 water distribution systems

The average amounts of sucralose in source water and finished water was 440 ng/L and 350 ng/L respectively.

According to the study:

“Further, in the subset of [drinking water treatment plants] with distribution system water sampled, the compound was found to persist regardless of the presence of residual chlorine or chloramines … The results of this study confirm that sucralose [is] an indicator compound … for the presence of other recalcitrant compounds in finished drinking water”.

Recalcitrant compounds are organic or synthetic compounds that resist being broken down by chemical processes, such as those employed by water treatment facilities. This is troublesome, particularly as sucralose can be quite detrimental to human health, and the contamination appears to be very widespread in US water supplies.

Sucralose Destroys Healthy Bacteria

Three years ago, an animal study published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health reported that sucralose:

  • Reduced the amount of good bacteria in the animals’ intestines by 50 percent
  • Increased the pH level in the intestines
  • Contributed to increases in body weight, and
  • Affected P-glycoprotein (P-gp) levels in such a way that crucial health-related drugs could be rejected. In terms of human health, this P-gp effect could result in medications used in chemotherapy, AIDS treatment and treatments for heart conditions being shunted back into your intestines, rather than being absorbed
  • Is absorbed by fat cells (contrary to previous claims)

The fact that Splenda can destroy up to 50 percent of your healthy intestinal bacteria is truly disturbing as these help maintain your body’s overall balance of friendly versus unfriendly micro-organisms, and support your overall immunity and general health. Many people are already deficient in healthy bacteria due to choosing highly processed foods, which is why a high-quality probiotic is one of the very few supplements I recommend for nearly everyone. And now we discover that this artificial sweetener also contaminates a majority of US municipal water supplies as well…

Splenda has NEVER Been Proven Safe for Human Consumption

Did you know that only two human trials on sucralose were completed and published prior to the FDA approving Splenda for human consumption? And these two trials included a total of 36 human subjects. Worse yet, the longest running trial lasted only four days, and looked at sucralose in relation to tooth decay, not human tolerance. As for determining the absorption of Splenda into the human body, a mere eight men were studied. Based on that singular human study, the FDA allowed the findings to be generalized as being representative of and regarded as “safe” for the entire human population!

This is a potentially devastating mistake, as some groups are far more susceptible to adverse effects than others, such as infants, the elderly, and the chronically ill.

You’ve probably heard the claims that the FDA has reviewed over 100 studies on Splenda and are satisfied that it’s a safe product, but what you don’t hear is that most of those studies were on animals, and that they actually revealed plenty of problems! For example, some of these studies revealed:

  • Decreased red blood cells — sign of anemia — at levels above 1,500 mg/kg/day
  • Increased male infertility by interfering with sperm production and vitality, as well as brain lesions at higher doses
  • Enlarged and calcified kidneys
  • Spontaneous abortions in nearly half the rabbit population given sucralose, compared to zero aborted pregnancies in the control group
  • A 23 percent death rate in rabbits, compared to a six percent death rate in the control group

It May be Made from Sugar, But it’s Nothing Like it…

Don’t let the name fool you. Sucralose is NOT some magical calorie-free sugar, despite Splenda’s famous slogan, “Made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar.” It is in fact a chlorinated artificial sweetener cooked up in a factory, and scores of consumers have testified to its devastating effects. It does start off as a sugar molecule—to which three chlorine molecules are added. At the end of the patented process, the chemical composition of the sugar has been altered to the point that it’s actually closer to DDT and Agent Orange than sugar.

This type of “sugar” molecule does not occur anywhere in nature, and therefore your body cannot properly metabolize it. This is why Splenda is advertised as having “zero calories”—because your body cannot digest or metabolize it. Essentially, it passes right through you. Or at least that’s the claim. However, according to the available research, between 11-27 percent of sucralose is in fact absorbed into your digestive system, and according to the study mentioned above, it is also absorbed into your fat cells.

The question then becomes, just what kind of impact might a DDT- or Agent Orange-like molecule have on your health?

Furthermore, few people realize that only about one percent of that packet of Splenda is actually sucralose. The remaining 99 percent is maltodextrin—a type of sugar! Each packet actually has four calories, but because the amount of sugar is less than one gram, they get away with saying it has “no calories” due to a loophole in the labeling law.

Benefits of Dark Chocolate

The “Junk Food” that May Help Slash Your Risk of Cardiovascular Disease by 37%

Posted By Dr. Mercola | September 21 2011

By Dr. Mercola

A recent meta-analysis sought to evaluate the association between chocolate consumption and the risk of developing cardiometabolic disorders. “Cardiometabolic disorders” is a term that represents a cluster of interrelated risk factors that promote the development of coronary heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.

These risk factors include:

  • Hypertension
  • Elevated fasting glucose
  • High cholesterol levels
  • Abdominal obesity
  • Elevated triglycerides

In the featured analysis, researchers pooled the results of seven studies that collectively included more than 114,000 participants. Five of the seven studies reported a beneficial association between chocolate consumption and reduced risk of developing cardiometabolic disorders.

Bear in mind that not all chocolate is created equal. I’ll review that in more detail below. As a general rule, any time “chocolate” is evaluated for its health benefits, we’re dealing with dark unprocessed chocolate and/or raw cacao—not your average processed milk chocolate candy bar. That said, the featured analysis found that the highest levels of chocolate consumption were associated with:

  • 37 percent reduction in cardiovascular disease, and
  • 29 percent reduction in stroke

The authors concluded that:

“Based on observational evidence, levels of chocolate consumption seem to be associated with a substantial reduction in the risk of cardiometabolic disorders.”

Chocolate, Good for Your Cardiovascular Health

This isn’t the first time researchers have lauded dark chocolate as a heart-healthy choice. Five years ago, researchers discovered that small amounts of dark chocolate can cut your risk of heart attackbecause, like aspirin, chocolate has a biochemical effect that reduces the clumping of platelets, which cause blood to clot. Platelet clumping can be fatal if a clot forms and blocks a blood vessel, causing a heart attack.

Then, in 2008, researchers found that specially formulated raw cocoa powder has the potential to prevent cardiovascular disease in diabetics. Diabetic patients were given a special high-flavonol cocoa drink for one month, which brought their blood vessel function from severely impaired to normal. The improvement was actually as large as has been observed with exercise and many common diabetic medications.

More recently, researchers also discovered that a compound in dark chocolate, called epicatechin (a flavonoid), may protect your brain after a stroke by increasing cellular signals that shield nerve cells from damage. A stroke is similar to a heart attack, but occurs when the blood supply to your brain becomes blocked or reduced, as opposed to blocking the blood supply to your heart. This deprives your brain of necessary oxygen and nutrients, causing your brain cells to begin to die within minutes. Certain antioxidants such as epicatechins (which are also found in tea, red wine, and certain fruits and vegetables) may offer significant benefits to stroke victims.

In that study, the animals that ingested epicatechin 1.5 hours prior to an induced stroke suffered significantly less brain damage than the ones that had not been given the compound. It appears the antioxidant stimulates two pathways known to shield nerve cells in your brain from damage, so when the stroke hits, your brain is “on standby,” if you will, ready to protect itself because these pathways are activated. According to the lead author, even a small amount of cacao may be sufficient to reap this protective health benefit!

Beware: Not All Chocolate is Created Equal

As mentioned at the beginning, these types of health benefits are mainly due to the high amounts of antioxidants present in pure cocoa, and any time you process the cocoa it loses its nutritional value. Hence, don’t expect to get these kinds of results from regular chocolate candy. Few chocolates still contain the active ingredient. This means that the chocolate that offers the greatest health benefits is also the kind that few people find truly mouthwatering, as it is very bitter – NOT sweet.

CIA Silent on Climate Change

CIA Keeps Its Climate Work Under Wraps

—By Kate Sheppard

As I reported last month, the CIA’s Center on Climate Change and National Security has been keeping a low profile—probably because Republican members of Congress have been trying to ax the program. But apparently the CIA is going so far as to keep all information about the program classified, Secrecy News reported.

The CIA categorically denied a request under the Freedom of Information Act for copies of studies or reports from the center on climate change impacts. Jeffrey Richelson, an intelligence historian with the National Security Archive, filed the FOIA request. And while it’s conceivable that some of the work the center is doing should be classified, it seems rather unreasonable that all if their work should be secret.

Steven Aftergood of Secrecy News summed up the problem with this approach:

The CIA response indicates a fundamental lack of discernment that calls into question the integrity of the Center on Climate Change, if not the Agency as a whole. If the CIA really thinks (or pretends to think) that every document produced by the Center constitutes a potential threat to national security, who can expect the Center to say anything intelligent or useful about climate change? Security robots cannot help us navigate the environmental challenges ahead. Better to allocate the scarce resources to others who can.

This is an issue that came up repeatedly in my reporting on the center. Several people in the national security community raised the question of whether our traditional intelligence-gathering programs are really the best way to deal with climate change and national security, for a lot of good reasons. Climate change is a threat much different than traditional security concerns, and the agency’s experts might not be the best suited for looking at it. It’s an international problem, and addressing it will require more openness, cooperation, and transparency with other nations and stakeholders, not less of it. And the sea level rise, droughts, famines, and extreme weather events associated with climate change aren’t exactly secrets.

The agency’s strategy, in light of attacks from climate skeptics, seems to be to lay low and hope no one notices them. (Trust me, I tried desperately to get info about the program for my story last month, to no avail.) But that makes it practically impossible to publicly justify the program’s existence, given that we have no idea what they’re up to over there.

Peter VanBuren On the Largest US Embassy

Inside the World’s Largest Embassy

Welcome to the Vatican-sized US Embassy in Baghdad, home to a $2 million dead lawn and the world’s worst bar scene.

Editor’s note: In 2009, Peter Van Buren, a two-decade veteran of the Foreign Service, volunteered to go to Iraq. Drawn by “the nexus of honor, duty, terrorism, and my oldest daughter’s college tuition,” he signed on as the head of an embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team, part of a “civilian surge” to rebuild the country and pave the way for the withdrawal of American combat troops. He’d joined the biggest nation-building exercise in history, a still-unfinished $63-billion effort that Van Buren compares to “past[ing] together feathers year after year, hoping for a duck.” Van Buren’s acerbic new memoir, We Meant Well: How I Helped Lose the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of the Iraqi People, recounts his two years as an official feather-paster in a country that’s become an afterthought to most Americans.

Even before he hit the ground, Van Buren found that the State Department’s efforts to stabilize Iraq were as haphazard and unrealistic as the initial military effort to invade the countryIn his acknowledgments, Van Buren singles out former Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, “who led an organization I once cared deeply for into a swamp and abandoned us there.” Not surprisingly, Van Buren, who still works for the State Department, has ruffled some feathers at Foggy Bottom. “The State Department…is like a Mafia family: one doesn’t talk about family matters outside the family,” he told Publisher’s Weekly. “When a colleague learns about my book, the first question is always ‘Are you in trouble?’ I am afraid the answer is yes.” Van Buren says the department has been investigating him and that his boss delivered a threatening message from an unnamed superior, “just like in a gangster movie.”

Though Van Buren spent much of his time in Iraq in the field, in the excerpt below, he recalls life inside Baghdad’s Green Zone, home to an immense, surreal US Embassy and “the world’s worst bar scene.”

The World’s Biggest Embassy (104 acres, 22 buildings, thousands of staff members, a $116 million vehicle inventory), physically larger than the Vatican, was a sign of our commitment, at least our commitment to excess. “Along with the Great Wall of China,” said the ambassador, “it’s one of those things you can see with the naked eye from outer space.” The newly opened embassy was made up of large office buildings, the main one built around a four-story atrium, with overhead lights that resembled sails. If someone had told us there was a Bath & Body Works in there, we would not have thought it odd.

The World’s Biggest Embassy sat in, or perhaps defined, the Green Zone. Called the Emerald City by some, the Green Zone represented the World’s Largest Public Relations Failure. In the process of deposing Saddam, we placed our new seat of power right on top of his old one, just as the ancient Sumerians built their strongholds on top of fallen ones out in the desert. In addition to the new buildings, Saddam’s old palaces in the Zone were repurposed as offices, and Saddam’s old jails became our new jails. Conveniently for Iraqis, the overlords might have changed but the address had not. The place you went to visit political prisoners who opposed Saddam was still the place you went to look for relatives who opposed the Americans.

The new embassy compound isolated American leadership at first physically and soon mentally as well. The air of otherworldliness started right with the design of the place. American architects had planned for the embassy grounds to have all sorts of trees, grassy areas, and outdoor benches; the original drawings made them look like a leafy college campus. For a place in the desert, the design could not have been more impractical. But in 2003, no projection into the future was too outlandish. One building at the compound was purpose-built to be the international school for the happy children who would accompany their diplomat parents on assignment. It was now used only for offices. Each embassy apartment offered a full-size American range, refrigerator, and dishwasher, as if staffers might someday take their families to shop at a future Sadr City Safeway like they do in Seoul or Brussels. In fact, all food was trucked in directly from Kuwait, along with American office supplies, souvenir mugs, and T-shirts (“My Father Was Assigned to Embassy Baghdad and All I Got Was…”, “I’d Walk a Mile for a Camel”) and embassy staff members were prohibited from buying anything to eat locally. The embassy generated its own electricity, purified its own water from the nearby Tigris, and processed its own sewage, hermetically sealed off from Iraq.

Welcome to the Green Zone: Kjirstin/FlickrWelcome to the Green Zone, now stay off the grass Kjirstin/Flickr

The ambassador, who fancied himself a sportsman, ordered grass to grow on the large sandy area in front of the main embassy building, a spot at one time designated as a helicopter-landing zone, since relocated. Gardeners brought in tons of dirt and planted grass seed. A nearly endless amount of water was used, but despite clear orders to do so, the grass would not grow. Huge flocks of birds arrived. Never having seen so much seed on the ground in one place, they ate passionately. No grass grew. The ambassador would not admit defeat. He ordered sod be imported into Kuwait and then brought by armored convoy to the embassy. No one confessed to what it cost to import, but estimates varied between two and five million dollars. The sod was put down and hundreds of thousands of gallons of water were used to make it live, in what was practically a crime against nature. Whole job positions existed to hydrate and tend the grass. No matter what Iraq and nature wanted, the American Embassy spent whatever it took to have green grass in the desert. Later full-grown palm trees were trucked in and planted to line the grassy square. We made things in Iraq look the way we wanted them to look, water shortages throughout the rest of the country be damned. The grass was the perfect allegory for the whole war.

Reprogramming DNA

Wormholes in Our DNA

dna.jpgRussian biophysist, Pjotr Garjajav, and his research group have been investigating the scientific basis for phenomena such as clairvoyance, spontaneous acts of healing, the success of affirmations, auras, and the potential of groups of people to influence weather patterns through their intention. Now, this research has revealed that DNA can be reprogrammed by words and frequencies— opening up a whole new arena in medicine.

As we know, 90% of DNA has classified as “junk DNA.” The Russian scientists joined linguists to explore this so-called “extraneous” DNA and found that the genetic code “follows the same rules as all our human languages”–indicating that human languages are actually a reflection of our DNA.

Through exploring the vibrational behavior of the DNA, Russian scientists were able to use certain frequency patterns to alter the genetic information itself. Even more astounding, the experiment proved that one can use words and sentences to influence DNA. This explains scientifically how the body can be programmed by language, words and thought– finally lending credence to the use of affirmations and hypnosis.

The scientists also proved that using frequency can repair chromosomes damaged by x-rays and actually reprogram DNA. By applying vibration to the DNA information patterns, they successfully transformed frog embryos to salamander embryos.

Equally exciting is the news that the scientists found out that our DNA can produce magnetized wormholes– “tunnel connections between entirely different areas in the universe through which information can be transmitted outside of space and time. The DNA attracts these bits of information and passes them on to our consciousness.” This lays the groundwork for proving hyper communication or psychic phenomena, and understanding where that information comes from.

DNA is like a superconductor that can store light and thus, information. Wormholes are normally highly unstable and maintained only for fractions of seconds. But under certain conditions, stable wormholes can organize themselves into vacuum domains where gravity can transform into electricity. Vacuum domains are “self-radiant balls of ionized gas that contain considerable amounts of energy.” They have been seen in the sky, oftentimes mistaken for UFOs. The Russians have discovered that these balls of light can be guided by thought. These vacuum domains can also be produced in our brains. This explains the halos around spiritual teachers and light effects appearing on photographs, especially involving healing work. These phenomena have to do with wormholes and hyper communication– with energies from outside our time/space structure.
In the past, earlier generations that had such experiences with hyper communication and visible vacuum domains spoke of angels. We still do not know what forms of consciousness we have access to when using hyper communication. But this research is bringing us closer to understanding the infinitely complex nature of our reality.

Dhyana Markely Converses with the Elementals

The Quest Of The Elementals:

Earth, Wind (Air), Fire, Water, And Spiritt

From Dhyana Markley

DAY ONE

The morning of July 25, 2011, I awoke from a Dream/Vision in which I was quickly putting together a rummage sale. As things progressed, it seemed as if I was giving away more than I was selling. A small group I did not know appeared. The rather short man, obviously taking the lead, had a beard of green forest moss. I looked at the woman standing near him and noticed that she had some moss growing in the area under her right ear. They seemed to urgently want something I didn’t think I had or could give them. In their urgency they sent an electrical charge into my Crown Chakra. I quickly placed a strong shield around my body which cut off that energetic flow. They seemed surprised I had done that. End of Dream.

Dia1na/Dhyana: They seemed more interested in me than any of my give-away things.

Thoth: They were.

D: What did they want of me? I had the feeling they wanted me to go with them.

T: They did. They were Elementals.

D: Did they wish me harm? I have never met any of the Earth Elementals but Pan before and he was very nice. I have met an Air Elemental though and he was very helpful.

T: No, they do not wish you harm. They want you to do ceremony for them too.

D: I will think on what I might do to help them.

T: That is fine.

D: Do you have any suggestions?

T: No.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About Noon
Dhyana: Christ Michael Aton and Lady Gaia…..
Aton: Yes.
Gaia: Yes.
D: Would I be offending either of you or stepping on your toes if I were to help the Earth Elementals? They asked for my help this morning and I don’t know what I can do to help them.
A: Diana, I leave you to Gaia. I would not be offended at anything you choose to do.
D: Thank you, Aton. (Aton leaves.) Gaia, I don’t want to interfere with your responsibilities. Perhaps you can suggest ways I might help them.
G: Diana, I am delighted for your help with my Elementals… all of them.
D: Thank you.
G: My Elementals can speak for themselves better than I can speak for them. They know what they need. I must focus my attention on my changes for ascension. Helping them, all Elementals, will be helping me too.
D: Okay, then I will contact each group, but first the Earth Elementals, and see what I can do. Perhaps I can even create a ceremony for ALL Elementals and ask for big help from all of Creation again. There is such love in this Creation, it is easy to find volunteer help.
G: I think that is a glorious idea.
D: Okay. I was just looking for a place to start without stepping on someone else’s responsibilities. Thank you.
G: Thank you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

D: I call to all of the male and female Earth Elementals who visited me this morning. I AM Dhyana and I would like to speak with you at your earliest convenience.

(In a moment the male and female Earth Elemental leaders stand before me.

Others stand nearby.)

Please make yourselves comfortable.

(I feel pressure on my Crown Chakra again and feel the need to

reenforce my protective shield.)

Please DO NOT try to affect me psychically or force anything into my mind or body! I do not respond to lies or force very well at all, yet I am willing to help Christ Michael Aton and Lady Gaia in any way that I can as long as it is in harmony with the Sacred Laws of the affected worlds. What are your needs and how do you suggest I help you?

(The male leader steps forth.)

Male Earth Elemental Leader~MEEL: I apologize for expressing our need in such a forceful way. Our need is great and we are at wits end. Our wards are dying even though we try hard every day to keep them alive.

D: What kinds of things do you do for them?

MEEL: We bring them water, tend to their needs…

D: Do you sing to them?

MEEL: Not lately. So many have died that we are brokenhearted. We feel we have failed.

D: I understand. That can be overwhelming. But, you do know that this is the end of the Kali Yuga, the last dark age, and that we are in the process of the Golden Age manifesting, don’t you?

MEEL: It is hard to believe this when all we love dies.

D: Have you ever thought or remembered that nothing or no one with a Soul spark of Creator God ever dies? I know you understand the Seasons, but have you ever thought about the Seasons of Planets or Solar Systems or Galaxies?

MEEL: I don’t think we have talked about that.

(He looks at the Female Earth Elemental Leader.)

FEEL: We know we are a part of the Grand Plan, but we are simple folk. We thought we would always be taken care of as long as we did our job.

D: All life is taken care of. It’s just that in our world of illusion here upon, above and within Urantia (Earth) that it is easy to forget it IS an illusion and the challenges here help each and every one of us to spiritually grow into even greater understandings. I cried many a tear before I learned this. I still cry with frustration at things I don’t understand or have forgotten. Finally, when I am exhausted, I ask for help.

FEEL: We are exhausted and we ask for help.

D: How can I help you?

FEEL: We don’t know.

D: All right. If you will be patient a few minutes, I would like to speak to all of the leaders of the other Elemental groups as well.

(FEEL and MEEL sit down.)

D: To all Elemental Leaders of Urantia and her involved levels of existence, I AM Diana and I ask that you join me and the Earth Elemental Leaders of Urantia for a conversation in this Now, above Space and Time.

(Immediately my small apartment seem much to small for all

who join us, so I switch everyone to a grand meeting hall in

Inner Earth where we can all sit comfortably at a huge round table.)

D: I hope….

(I pause when I realized that even this room is too small, so I

switch us to a lovely green field near my home in Inner Earth.)

D: I hope you will all be more comfortable here.

(Many seemed a bit surprised at the environmental jumps,

but quickly settled in and gave me their attention.)

D: Ladies and Gentlemen, I have asked all of you here because the Earth Elementals have asked me for help. I was wondering how the rest of you are coping with the End Times of the Kali Yuga and the beginning of the Golden Age.

Male Air Elemental Leader (MAEL): I am Joslin. (He bows.) The Air Elementals have been very busy because of the irregular air currents. They are greatly aberrant. We have never seen their like, although some of our Ancient Ones remember similar times. We don’t really know what we are doing anymore. We just do the best we can in every situation.

Female Water Elemental Leader (FWEL): We do the same, with the water I mean. So many volcanoes and plates shifting… so much pollution.

D: Anyone else having problems?

(No answer.)

Okay, then. We all know that Lady Gaia is going through some major challenges so she can help uplift those who want to ascend with her. She is or has been tolerating great pain so that life upon, above and within her might be spared long enough to awaken in consciousness and ascend too. All of us, and I mean ALL of us, including me, have been inconvenienced and often in physical and emotional pain during these changing times.

FEEL: You mean you’ve been in pain too?

D: Yes. Some of it due to the physical changes in my body, like dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, seeming inner ear infections, sharp pains in various parts of my body and great mental frustration from feelings that my family doesn’t truly want me with them to feeling split between worlds.

(Murmurings.)

FEEL: We didn’t know.

D: It is not important. I only said that so you might better understand that great changes… mental, physical, emotional and spiritual… are difficult for everyone. Even Christ Michael, Creator Source and the Sugmads have their times of great challenge and forms of discomfort.

(All are quiet.)

D: What I would like to accomplish with all of you today, is to find a way to help you, your people, to ease your pain and discomfort and work toward the mutual uplifting goal of ascension for all who choose to ascend… and the complete healing of Lady Gaia and Urantia. Now, we will have help… as much as we need and more than you ever dreamed possible.

(Their faces now look visibly relieved and eager to hear more.)

MWEL: How?

D: As I understand it, and I could be wrong, Urantia is the last planet… Seed Planet… to be made ready to ascend. Dark ones on our planet have refused to loosen their hold on banking, commerce, industry, religion, politics and many other things. They fear greatly their loss of power and influence, as well as the rage of people they have harmed, so in their fear they have caused even more pollution of the waters, air and lands with poisons toxic to all life. This they are doing with even more vigor than before. This has caused the delay of almost all healing and resolution. However, it IS happening!

Quadrillions of Souls gather when called, to help out by giving their unconditional love and energy or life force to Lady Gaia and all of you above, upon and within her Urantia.

(I see many eyes wide open with surprise.)

“Janus Cat” 12 Years Old

Twelve-year-old two-faced cat is world’s oldest

By Zach HowardPosted 2011/09/28 at 10:53 am EDT

CONWAY, Mass, Sep. 28, 2011 (Reuters) — Frank and Louie, a gray feline with two mouths, two noses and three eyes, just turned 12 years old and is the world’s oldest, living two-faced cat.

This undated handout image, obtained by Reuters on September 27, 2011, shows a Massachusetts cat with two faces that has become the world’s longest surviving so called “janus” feline at 12 years of age. REUTERS/David Niles/Handout

Sara Wilcox, a Guinness World Records spokeswoman said he is the “longest surviving Janus cat,” referring to the name coined by British zoologist Dr. Karl Shuker, based on the two-faced Roman god of transitions, gates and doorways.

Frank and Louie has craniofacial duplication, an extremely rare congenital condition. The disorder, also known as diprosopia, can cause part or all of an individual’s face to be duplicated on its head.

It has been recorded multiple times in the domestic cat, but few two-faced kittens survive into adulthood, Wilcox said.

Frank and Louie was born on September 8, 1999. His remarkable life will be commemorated in Guinness World Records’ new 2012 edition, Wilcox said.

The cat’s owner, a woman only identified as Marty, lives near Worcester, Massachusetts. She was a veterinary technician in 1999 when a day-old, two-faced kitten about the size of her thumb was brought into her clinic to be euthanized.

The life expectancy for a two-faced cat is about four days because they usually suffer from other disorders.

“When he was first born, every day was a blessing,” Marty told a local radio station on Tuesday.

She immediately adopted Frank and Louie. The cat has one brain so both faces act in unison. Two of his eyes — the outermost ones — are normal, while the middle eye is larger but doesn’t function.

The cat eats on the right side, using Frank’s face, which is connected to his esophagus, while Louie’s nose twitches at the same time, his owner said.

Marty told the local radio station that the cat is more like a dog because it walks on a leash and loves car rides.”

Ophelia strengthening; Typhoon Nalgae a new threat to the Philippines
Posted by: JeffMasters, 1:51 PM GMT on September 29, 2011 +4
Tropical Storm Ophelia is strengthening as it pulls away from the Lesser Antilles Islands and heads north-northwest. Recentsatellite loops show that Ophelia has developed a Central Dense Overcast (CDO) of high cirrus clouds over its core, which is characteristic of strengthening tropical storms that are nearing hurricane intensity. Dry air and moderate wind shear of 15 – 20 knots are slowing down Ophelia’s intensification, but by Friday morning, wind shear is expected to fall to 10 – 15 knots, and remain below 15 knots through Sunday morning. This should allow Ophelia to intensify into a hurricane on Friday. Most of the models agree that Ophelia will track far enough to the east of Bermuda that the island should see sustained winds below 45 mph, since it will be on the weak (left) side of the storm. We can’t rule out the possibility that Bermuda will receive hurricane force winds yet, but the odds are low–the 5 am wind probability forecast from NHC gave Bermuda just a 3% chance of receiving hurricane force winds. Ophelia’s closest approach to the island will be late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Ophelia is likely to bring high winds and heavy rains to Southeast Newfoundland Sunday night, as a weakening tropical storm.

In the middle Atlantic, Tropical Storm Philippe is headed west-northwest, and is not expected to trouble and land areas.Satellite loops show Philippe is a small system with little heavy thunderstorm activity. Wind shear is expected to diminish some today over the storm, which should allow the storm to intensify. However, by Saturday, Philippe will be encountering very high wind shear of 30 – 40 knots associated with the upper-level outflow from Ophelia. This shear will probably be high enough to destroy Philippe by Monday. In the event Philippe does survive the shear, the storm could penetrate far enough west that Bermuda might need to be concerned with it.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic, none of the computer models is calling for a new tropical storm to form in the coming seven days. The large-scale environment over the Atlantic currently favors sinking air, due to the current phase of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). This situation will likely last well into next week, and will discourage formation of new tropical storms. The MJO is a 30-60 day cycle of thunderstorm activity that affects the tropics.

Typhoon Nesat battering China
Typhoon Nesat hit China’s Hainan Island today as a Category 1 typhoon with 75 mph winds. While Nesat’s winds and storm surge will not cause major damage, it is a very wet storm, capable of dropping up to 8 inches of rain in 24 hours, according to latest satellite rainfall forecasts. Haikou on Hainan Island recorded a wind gust of 78 mph and 3.23″ of rain as the eyewall passed just to the north. Nesat will hit Vietnam near Hanoi as a tropical storm on Saturday.

Nesat roared across Luzon Island in the Philippines Monday as a powerful Category 3 typhoon with 120 mph winds, leaving35 people dead and 45 missing. The Philippines has a new worry today: Typhoon Nalgae has formed 700 miles to the east of Luzon Island, and is expected to follow a course just to the north of Nesat’s. Nalgae is expected to intensify into a major Category 3 typhoon and hit the northern portion of Luzon on Saturday afternoon, local time. With soils on the island already saturated from the heavy rains Nesat brought, the new typhoon promises to bring heavy flooding to Luzon this weekend.

Doctors, Preconceptions, and God Complex

Decoding the God Complex

By
Published: September 27, 2011

Medical schools are starting to train doctors to be less intimidating to patients. And patients are starting to train themselves to be less intimidated by doctors.

We haven’t completely gotten away from the syndrome so perfectly described by Alec Baldwin’s arrogant surgeon in the movie “Malice”: “When someone goes into that chapel and they fall on their knees and they pray to God that their wife doesn’t miscarry or that their daughter doesn’t bleed to death or that their mother doesn’t suffer acute neural trauma from postoperative shock, who do you think they’re praying to? … You ask me if I have a God complex. Let me tell you something: I am God.”

But there have been baby steps away from the Omniscient Doctor. The federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has begun a new campaign to encourage patients to ask more pertinent questions and to prod doctors to elicit more relevant answers.

“I used to think, ‘He’s a doctor. Who am I to ask a question?’ ” Bill Lee, a Baltimore man who has suffered 10 heart attacks, says in a video on the agency’s Web site urging people to speak up.

Patients have more options, a flood of Internet information and a bombardment of drug ads listing side effects — and that can be terrifying. It adds to the general anxiety level that health insurance costs are rising sharply and that President Obama’s health care law seems headed toward the Supreme Court.

The “experts” are always issuing guidelines, which are soon contradicted by another set of “experts.” It happened with the recommended age for regular mammograms, and it’s happening with guidelines on hormone replacement for postmenopausal women.

First, estrogen was going to be the fountain of youth. Then hormone replacement therapy was going to spell doom, causing heart disease, stroke and breast cancer. And now, as The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, “some experts are reaching a more nuanced view of the risks and benefits and concluding that hormone therapy may still be a good option for healthy women in their 50s, depending on their symptoms, family history and worst fears.”

Each patient, a Michigan gynecologist told The Journal, is like a Rubik’s Cube, and must get an individual solution.

That is also the message of a new book, “Your Medical Mind: How to Decide What Is Right for You,” by Jerome Groopman, an oncologist, and his wife, Pamela Hartzband, an endocrinologist, both members of the Harvard faculty and staff physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Few people have done as much to demystify medicine as Dr. Groopman, who has written four other books and lots of New Yorker essays aiming to help doctors understand that patients are often neglected allies with good intuition, and to help patients get confidence and control by understanding how doctors think.

Like a Middle East peace broker, he aims to lower the stress level and bring together two sides who perpetually misunderstand each other.

With his white beard, 6-foot-5 stature and friendly manner, the Queens native certainly looks trustworthy. Stephen Colbert once accused Groopman of “trying to look like God.”

And I can say from personal experience — since I’ve known him, he’s provided guidance that helped save the lives of three members of my family — that he is a fierce, sensitive and generous patient advocate. (And an aficionado of Irish literature.)

Dr. Hartzband and Dr. Groopman warn against excessive reliance on overreaching so-called experts and nebulous metrics and statistics.

“The answer often lies not with the experts but within you,” they write, adding that the Albert Einstein line is apt: “Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”

The authors stress that “the best” and “informed” can be subjective terms, and that your prognosis can often look very different if you “flip the frame” of reference.

They try to decode the Orwellian language that prevents physicians and patients from cooperating, and show how doctors can project their own preferences on patients.

They interview patients who are Doubters and Minimalists, who may agree with Voltaire’s view that “the art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” And they interview Believers and Maximalists, who go for radical treatments too quickly. They confess that they have a mixed marriage: Dr. Hartzband tends to be a Doubter (her mom’s mantra was “Doctors don’t know everything”) while Dr. Groopman tends to be a Believer (a status that got shaken when he jumped into a spinal fusion operation that had “disastrous consequences.”)

“The unsettling reality,” they write, “is that much of medicine still exists in a gray zone, where there is no black or white answer about when to treat or how to treat.”

But they are both optimists who warn against the “focusing illusion” — focusing on what will be lost after a colostomy, mastectomy, prostate surgery or other major procedures.

“The focusing illusion,” they write, “neglects our extraordinary capacity to adapt, to enjoy life with less than ‘perfect’ health.”
