Earthquake overview : A strong earthquake occurred in the Philippines at 00:27 UTC. Preliminary data are reporting the epicenter at 152 km from Dagupan, Luzon

Update : the epicenter of the earthquake is almost on top of the subduction fault line along the coast

Update : An intensity II (Phivolcs scale) has been reported in  Quezon City; Manila; Mandaluyong City; Ortigas, Pasig; Makati City; Obando, Bulacan; Baguio City

Update : Phivolcs reports a magnitude of 6.0 at a depth of 16km. The epicenter following Phivolcs is 94 km from Paluig.

“Earthquake overview : Very strong but deep earthquake in Luzon Philippines. Soon after the first data was published in Europe the depth of the hypocenter was +60km (very safe).  After 2 hours Phivolcs published however a shallow depth of 30 km, which concerned us a lot. Magnitude 5.9 at a depth of 35 km. 20:56 UTC : So far 3 aftershocks are recorded : M 3.9 @ 02:12 AM, M 4.0 @ 03:10 AM and M 2.8 @ 03:43 AM (all local times)”

Earthquake overview : A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the coastal waters of Negros Island, Philippines  at 4:47 AM local time. The epicenter of the earthquake is approx. 30 km out of the coast (USGS) and 45 km (Phivolcs). Phivolcs (the Philippines seismological service)  has not called a tsunami alarm for this earthquake as also the Magnitude was less than initially measured by USGS.
