Government Control of Food Production

Obama seizes control over all food, farms, livestock, farm equipment, fertilizer and food production across America

Obama

On March 16, 2012, President Obama issued anexecutive orderentitled, “NATIONAL DEFENSE RESOURCES PREPAREDNESS.” (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/03/16/executive-order…)

This executive order states that the President alone has the authority to take over all resources in the nation (labor, food, industry, etc.) as long as it is done “to promote the national defense” — a phrase so vague that it could mean practically anything.

The power to seize control and take over these resources is delegated to the following government authorities:

(1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;

(2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;

(3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;

(4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;

(5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and

(6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials.

This takeover is designed, in part, to “stockpile supplies” for the U.S. military. Authority for this total takeover of all national resources is granted with nothing more than the writing of a single statement that claims these actions are necessary to “promote the national defense.” As stated in the order:

the authority delegated by section 201 of this order may be used only to support programs that have been determined in writing as necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense:

(a) by the Secretary of Defense with respect to military production and construction, military assistance to foreign nations, military use of civil transportation, stockpiles managed by the Department of Defense, space, and directly related activities;

What all this means is that the U.S. government now claims the power to simplymarch onto your farm with guns drawn and demand all your crops, seeds, livestock and farm equipment.

Think I’m exaggerating? Read it yourself!

And for those living in denial who refuse to accept the reality of what’s happening in America, remember the following:

• When NaturalNews reported on the existence of the NDAA, we were told our reporting was misleading because Obama opposed it and wouldn’t sign it.

• When Obama betrayed America and signed the bill, we were told our reporting was misleading because “it didn’t apply to Americans.”

• When Obama admitted it did apply to Americans, he announced that he would choose “not to use it on Americans” but only by the grace of his restraint. Nobody who previously accused us of misleading the public had the integrity to offer us an apology and say, “Gee, you were right, it DOES apply to Americans!”

• Now Obama has seized control overall food, farms, livestock, water and transportationacross America. How many brain-dead Americans will continue to live in denial and try to convince themselves this is not happening? Sticking your head in the sand does not make this go away…

What California did to Rawesome Foods, the Obama administration can do to everyone

Remember the armed raids on Rawesome Foods? With guns drawn, California authorities assaulted the food distribution center, arrested the farmers, then proceeded todestroy $50,000 worth of foodincluding milk, eggs, cheese and watermelons. (http://www.naturalnews.com/033220_Rawesome_Foods_armed_raids.html)
As outrageous as that raid was, it’s only the beginning. Now, thanks to Obama’s executive order, the federal government can conduct Rawesome-style raids onall farms, all grocery stores, all food co-ops and even individual home gardens.

It’s written in plain English. This is no longer debatable and it’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s Obama administration policy. For what other purpose would this be issued in an executive order if it was not seen asactionableby the government? This piece of paper, you see, gives them the (false) authority to do whatever they want and then have the front-line soldiers who carry it out claim “we’re only following orders.”

Facts Behind Recent Mexico Earthquake

“Understanding” the massive March 20 Mexico earthquake

Last update: March 21, 2012 at 5:08 pm by By

Earthquake overview : On 3/20/2012  at about 11:30h local time, a massive earthquake of magnitude 7.4 (Mexican sources are reporting a M 7.8 strength) occurred in the highly populated region of Oaxaca / Guerrero in Mexico. The earthquake’s epicenter was located at  162 km from Oaxaca and 322 km from Mexico City (Distrito Federal).

The March 20, 2012 earthquake occurred as a result of thrust-faulting on or near the plate boundary interface between the Cocos and North America plates. The focal mechanism and depth of the earthquake are consistent with its occurrence on the subduction zone interface between these plates, approximately 100 km northeast of the Middle America Trenchwhere the Cocos plate begins its descent into the mantle beneath Mexico. In the region of this earthquake, the Cocos plate moves approximately northeastwards at a rate of 60 mm/yr.

Historically, there have been several significant earthquakes along the southern coast of Mexico. In 1932, a magnitude 8.4 thrust earthquake struck in the region of Jalisco, several hundred kilometers to the northwest of today’s event.

Magnitude 7 and Greater Earthquakes since 1900 – image courtesy USGS

On October 9, 1995 a magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck in the Colima-Jalisco region, killing at least 49 people and leaving 1,000 homeless.

The deadliest nearby earthquake occurred in the Michoacan region 470 km to the northwest of today’s event, on September 19, 1985. This magnitude 8.0 earthquake killed at least 9,500 people, injured about 30,000, and left 100,000 people homeless.

The 1985 Mexico City earthquake, a magnitude 8.0 earthquake that struck Mexico City on the early morning of 19 September 1985 at around 7:19 am (CST), caused the deaths of at least 10,000 people and serious damage to the greater Mexico City Area. The complete seismic event consisted of four quakes. A pre-event quake of magnitude 5.2 occurred on 28 May 1985. The main and most powerful shock occurred 19 September, followed by two aftershocks: one on 20 September 1985 of magnitude 7.5 and the fourth occurring seven months later on 30 April 1986 of magnitude 7.0. The quakes were located off the Mexican Pacific coast, more than 350 km away, but due to strength of the quake and the fact that Mexico City sits on an old lake-bed, Mexico City suffered major damage. The event caused between three and four billion USD in damage as 412 buildings collapsed and another 3,124 were seriously damaged in the city. While the number is in dispute, the most-often cited number of deaths is an estimated 10,000 people but experts agreed that it could be up to 40,000 (source : Wikipedia)

Last update: March 20, 2012 at 9:33 pm by By

Most important Earthquake Data:
Magnitude :  7.9 (preliminary)
UTC Time : Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 18:02:53 UTC
Local time at epicenter : Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 12:02:53 PM at epicenter
Depth (Hypocenter) : 10 km
Geo-location(s) :
52 km (32 miles) NE (39°) from Ometepec, Guerrero, Mexico
53 km (33 miles) WSW (241°) from Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca, Mexico
193 km (120 miles) E (83°) from Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico

Update: 2 buildings in the historic center of Mexico city have also been reported damaged.

– Update: No casualties have been reported from Omotopec which is good news given the damage.

– Update:  We have reports from Mexican radio (from Carlos) that 500 houses have been severely damaged or destroyed in Guerrero. As expected Omotopec has had a lot of this damage.

– Update: Currently only 60 houses are still being reported destroyed in the epicentral region with an extra 400 damaged.

– From Carlos Robles – our US/Mexico Earthquake correspondent:- A wall collapsed leaving one with serious injuries in Mexico City. Damage has been reported in Ciudad de Mexico like cracked roads, damaged buildings, and the bridge that collapsed in a bus with no casaulties.  Damage has been reported in Oaxaca with cracked roads and damaged buildings.

In Puebla the Palacio Municipal (Municipal palace, is a government building.) there were 2 cracked walls. Fissures in churches all over Mexico have been reported. Mobile phones were suspended due to overuse. The subway was suspended. The daughter of president Obama was in Oaxaca when the earthquake hit, she only felt the earthquake and has no injuries.

– A highway in Oaxaca has had a landslide cover a small section. It only caused slight damage in the form of a small car crash. Apart from that, other roads are all clear according to authorities.

– Earlier reports of a footbridge collapsing onto a bus in Mexico City were incorrect. In fact, it was the 10 meters of concrete guard rail of the footbridge which collapsed. No people were killed.

– Update : 1 person has been injured in Colonia Juarez – of a nervous breakdown. In addition a staircase collapsed in a police building and there are reports of minor injuries. Other than that only minor damage has been reported. Some bridges have been closed around Mexico as a precaution.

– Update : At least 60 houses have been destroyed in Guerrero. Most of these are expected to be old adobe houses. Omotopec is expected to have major damage. Damage will likely be in the tens of millions of US dollars.

2.5 million users have had outages in their electricity following the earthquake. After 90 minutes, 1.5 million users were restored to the grid. In the Eastern control area partial outages  in the cities of Poza Rica and Coatzacoalcos and parts of the states of Puebla, Tlaxcala and Morelos. CFE crews will continue working to restore power as quickly as possible in the affected areas.

– Update :  We notice, as expected, a lot of aftershocks, the strongest ones ranging from M 4.7  to M 5.3.

– Update :   – President Calderon has just confirmed that so far NO lives have been lost.
– Power plants are working normally
– The President has also declared that NO major damage was inflicted
– The Mexican Seismological service is maintaining a Magnitud of 7.8

– Update :  YouTube video of the shaking. The shaking we see on the video was more than 300 km from the epicenter! Swaying is more accentuated in high rise buildings.

I have felt it Map courtesy USGS

– Update :  At 13:52 local time (1 hour 50 minutes after the earthquake),  NO fatalities have been reported so far, a very good sign !

– Update :  New Intensity calculations(based on the M 7.4 Magnitude) are giving the following impact :
182,000 people MMI VII (very strong shaking)
596,000 people MMI VI (strong shaking)
2,736,000 people MMI V (moderate shaking)
32 million people MMI IV (light shaking)

– Update :  USGS has further decreased the Magnitude from 7.6 to 7.4, a lot weaker than the initially reported 7.9. The depth has been recalculated to 20 km. All this explains the lesser than originally expected intensity.

– Update :  GOOD preliminary news : Only light damage is currently reported out of the epicenter area. Based on our own experience, we think it is far too soon to have a final estimate, but after such an earthquake, we like to hear that the damage is not general.

– Update :  A concrete walkway bridge has collapsed on a microbus. No reports yet about victims. Some people have been hospitalized by a nervous breakdown.

– Update :  Everybody in the country could be found on the streets after evacuating houses and buildings. The situation on the roads of the bigger cities is simply chaotic. Everybody wants to drive back home.

– Update :  NOAA has released the following Tsunami bulletin : A DESTRUCTIVE WIDESPREAD TSUNAMI WAS NOT GENERATED BASED ON EARTHQUAKE AND HISTORICAL TSUNAMI DATA. HOWEVER, THERE IS THE  POSSIBILITY OF SOME LOCAL TSUNAMI EFFECTS.  THIS EARTHQUAKE IS LOCATED INLAND FROM THE COAST.
GDACS another agency who calculates tsunami heights has calculated that a max. tsunami wave of 0.1 meter may have occurred, nothing to be scared of.

– Update :  the closest airports to the epicenter are Pinotepa Nacional (77km) and Ta Lo De Soto (71km)

– Update :  there are NO hydrodams or NO Nuclear Plants in the vicinity of the epicenter

– Update :  GDACS reports that the nearest populated places are: Coyul (16km), Putla de Guerrero (18km), Cuitlapa (15km), Laguna (3km). The closest civilian airport is Pinotepa Nacional (77km).

– Update :  The area has currently a lot of aftershocks as could be expected. These aftershocks will go on for many hours and even days. Gradually they will get weaker but sometimes even M 6.x can be reached.  People in the epicenter area will have to spend the night on the streets out of fear for aftershocks.

– Update :  This earthquake is a subduction earthquake, which means that the Oceanic plate is gliging below the North American plate and often hangs for a while. When the accumulated energy is suddenly freed a massive earthquake is generated.

Signs of Volcanic Unrest on Santorini

Scenic Greek Island Shows Signs of Volcanic Unrest

The volcanic caldera on the picturesque tourist island of Santorini is showing signs of unrest. But researchers detecting the caldera’s movement say it doesn’t necessarily mean an eruption is imminent.

The Greek island was the site of one of the most massive volcanic eruptions in history 3,600 years ago. That eruption, which created tsunamis 40 feet (12 meters) tall, may have spawned thelegend of the lost city of Atlantis. The volcano last erupted in 1950, albeit on a much smaller scale.

Global positioning system (GPS) sensors placed on the caldera have detected renewed movement after decades of peace. The earth around the caldera (a depression at the top of a volcano) is deforming, or expanding outward, researchers report in an upcoming article in the journal Geophysical Research Letters. GPS instruments on the northern part of Santorini have moved between 1.9 and 3.5 inches (5 to 9 centimeters) since January 2011, said study researcher Andrew Newman, a geophysicist at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

“What we’re seeing now is the first significant deformation and the first deformation that has any significant earthquake activity associated with it,” Newman told LiveScience.

In the same time period, the magma chamber under Santorini has swollen by almost 500 million cubic feet (14 million cubic meters).

Newman and his colleagues say it’s unlikely that the deforming caldera portends an eruption. Excavations of extinct volcanoes suggest that 90 percent of the time, belowground magma movements don’t end in eruption. A similar caldera system, the Long Valley Caldera in California, started deforming in 1980, Newman said. It then quieted again until 1989, repeating the cycle in 1997 and 2002, with nary an eruption.

If a Santorini eruption did occur, Newman said, it would be nothing like the Minoan eruption of 1650 B.C. that birthed the myth of Atlantis. That eruption was a once-in-100,000-year event, and the expansion of the magma chamber happening now is only 1 percent of what would have gone on prior to the ancient blast. [The 10 Biggest Eruptions in History]

Geophysicists are keeping an eye on the caldera, however. An eruption could generate local tsunamis within the Santorini archipelago, Newman said, damaging ports and disrupting ship traffic. Even if the volcano doesn’t erupt, the shifting caldera could increase earthquake risk, and the island cliffs are vulnerable.

“We don’t need an eruption to have earthquake-induced landslides,” Newman said.

There’s no telling how long the deformation will continue, but it could stretch years or decades, perhaps cycling between activity and peace, Newman said. While no reason to be alarmed, the restless caldera is important for scientific study, he added.

“It is one of very few of these really large caldera volcanoes,” he said. “So any information we gather from ongoing activity adds significantly to our database of how these systems evolve.”

El Hierro Update

El Hierro Volcano : Yellow alert – Images of Glowing Lava at 70 meter depth

Last update: March 19, 2012 at 6:41 pm by By

VERY IMPORTANT Update 19/03 – 17:02 UTC
– ER reader Roland (see comments) has given us the lead to a report of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria showing the still erupting submarine El Hierro volcano with glowing lava seen floating at a depth of 70 meter.
What nobody could accomplish so far, has been done by the ROV E-Wally on board of the SOS-OceanosQ-StarAtlantic Explorer ship by the scientists of the Universidad de Las Palmas the Gran Canaria.
– The images have been captured on March 14 as the date on the images reveal. The images are of course foggy as a lot of suspended material is polluting the water.
– No doubt that Q-Star and the University has also some video footage that they will probably release later on (the pictures are probably screen captures of the video).
We are however VERY PLEASED that all those who cooperated on this mission have proved that the eruptive process is not yet entirely finished (at least it was not after the date that Pevolca said that the eruption stopped).

Original images courtesy Q-Star and Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

ER manipulation of the color saturation and contrast from the original picture above, a lot more details are appearing

Update 19/03 – 16:00 UTC
– Images of Joke Volta of today March 19

Update 19/03 – 11:17 UTC
– Nothing unusual this morning.
– Since midnight NO listed earthquakes since Saturday
– Sunday afternoon we noticed increased microseismicity. The variation in HT signal is often caused by changes in tide, wind, waves etc, external factors which have nothing linked to the eruption. However, a minimal HT is still present.
– Joke continues taking her daily pictures, with of course more focus to the island itself these days. She does not want to give up right now as the eruption might get stronger again.

Severe Weather Impacting the West, Midwest, Possibly Northeast

3/17/2012 — Severe weather forming out west — preparations should be made now

Posted on March 18, 2012

watch the update here:

——————————————–

Today was a somewhat heavy day for the midwest — damaging winds, nickel sized hail , excessive lightning … Missouri, Illinois, Indiana have received the brunt of this first SMALL system.

Coming out west — a very large low pressure system — pushing its way south near the Border of Mexico/California — pressing eastward eventually.. then northeast ..

College of Dupage GOES infrared satellite – northern hemisphere view :

This will draw the southern flow of warm moist air up from the south — mixing the cold air from the north — cold enough to produce a large winter weather advisory out west in CA, OR, WA, ID, NV, UT, CO.

When the system finally heads east (after the above mentioned western states).. it will give us extreme severe weather in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, (possibly nebraska), Lousiana, Mississippi , Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio …. eventually the east coast and south east as well…

Expect severe damaging winds.. large hail.. and tornadoes in several of the above mentioned states.. if not ALL the above mentioned states.  Only a few may be spared some kind of severe weather.  Most will get the hail and damaging winds for sure — lets HOPE few get tornadoes.

Time for preparation is now… in case of loss of home, property, or in case of injury — make these plans and know them well… make sure your friends/family/loved ones also know the plan.

Power outage, loss of shelter, loss of transportation, water cut off etc.. these are all common results of severe weather.. sometimes entire communities are wiped out (as was the case 3 weeks ago in the midwest).

FEMA turned DOWN disaster coverage for the people of Illinois (who lost entire towns)… so if youre looking for help AFTER a storm.. the only help you’ll be getting will be from local government, family, or friends….. so have insurance if you can afford it.. if you rent.. get that renters insurance.. make sure it covers severe weather and earthquakes !!!

much love, be safe, and heed the warnings if they are issued for your area— but don’t RELY on the warnings.. if you see these storms forming… best to look for yourself to find out whats going on.. I’ve assembled several links you can use to monitor this current and coming outbreak personally…

Steps to Get Rid of GMO’s

11 Steps for GMO Eradication: Help Grow the “GEM”

11th March 2012

By Jack Adam Weber

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

Dear Fellow Sane Human Beings,

Greetings. It’s a pleasure to write to you again.

By now you likely have plenty of information and encouragement for why not to purchase GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms). What we need now is to band together and take action. So below I have outlined “How” to do this.

If you need more information on GMOs or GM Foods, please search this site for “GMO” or see my articles.

GEM stands for “GMO Eradication Movement.” It of course also refers to our beautiful planet. So to “Grow the GEM” means eradicating GMOs to beautify our world. The 11 Steps for Growing the GEM are divided among three levels of participation. An overview of the three levels for being a GEM (GMO Eradication Mover) are:

Level I: Learning how to identify GMO products and not to buy them.

Level II: Includes Level I knowledge and action and shares it with others: friends, businesses, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Level III: Includes Level I & II, and implements public outreach to masses of people, and puts their hands in the soil.

I have also set up a GEM Facebook Page. This will be a crucial resource for us as we go forward, and your participation will help us all. So please join us here to meet and join forces.

As we learn more, the list below will be amended and updated. Please help us “Grow the GEM” by passing on this information. We absolutely need all of us now workingtogether. Time is urgent. We cannot procrastinate.

Feel free to copy and share the 11 Steps and please cite the source provided at the end of the list.

These Steps are the heart of GMO Eradication. Please consider them carefully and implement them as soon as possible. We all have to get down to business and be disciplined about this if we hope to win this thing. We have to do it together; please be a leader.

LEVEL I (ELIMINATE)

1) Learn which foods are GMO and do not buy them (unless organic). The current GM food crops are:

  • Corn (includes “sweet corn”)
  • Soy  (includes lecithin)
  • Sugar beets
  • Honey (via GMO crops’ pollen)
  • Cotton (including cottonseed oil)
  • Canola (including canola oil)
  • Alfalfa
  • Hawaiian papaya
  • Tobacco
  • Yellow crookneck and zucchini squash,
  • Dairy Products (tainted with rBGH and from animals fed GM food)
  • Meat (all kinds, from animals fed GM food)
  • Salmon (the actual animal is slated to be GMO)
  • (Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein), TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein), xanthan gum, vanillin, sucrose, lactose, dextrose, lactic acid, maltodextrin, Vitamins A, B2, B6, B12, C, D, E, K may be from GMO.

2) Print out the list and carry it with you; memorize it if you can.

3) Check food labels for GMO ingredients; if they are not listed as organic, they are likely GMO. Don’t buy it. Exceptions are products that bear the “NON GMO Project” label.

a) Example 1: Canola is a GMO crop. If a product contains canola oil and does not specify it is organic, it is likely GMO. Don’t buy it.

b) Example 2: Soy is a GMO crop. Tofu, tempeh, and soy yogurt are all made from soy. Also check for soy in veggie burgers and veggie sausages. If it is not organic don’t buy it.

4) Buy as little commercially farmed processed food and as much organic food as possible. Processed foods are more likely to have GMOs as well as hidden GMO ingredients.

a) Example 1: Corn is a GMO crop. Corn syrup, vitamin E, citric acid, polysorbate 80 and sodium citrate all can be derived from corn, and likely from GMO corn.

b) Example 2: Commercial beef, chicken, and turkey are almost always fed GM food. Only buy organic meat. “Free Range” meat is not necessarily organic.

5) Avoid commercial restaurants. Restaurants that are not specifically organic (far and few between), often use cheap food, which is often GMO and non-organic.

LEVEL II (OUTREACH)

6) Share information about the dangers of GMO foods with everyone you can. Share with them any of myarticles, Jeffrey Smith’s video(s), or just Google it.

7) Ask grocery stores and restaurants, family and friends, not to deal in GM foods. Talk to your children’s’ food director/organizer at school. Everywhere you go, let food-related organizations and people know: NO GMO.

8.) Call or email food companies that do not specify suspect ingredients as GMO and ask if they are GMO.

a) Example 1: Soy lecithin is often GMO. Call companies that make foods with soy lecithin and ask if it is from GMO soybeans. As them to send you verification in writing by email.

b) Example 2: If a label says “sugar” it may come from sugar beets, which are a GMO crop. Call the label’s company and proceed as with lecithin example.

c) Example 3: I recently called Twinlab, Kal, and Lessaffre (makers of Red Star Yeast) companies, all manufacturers of nutritional yeast products. Only one, Kal Brand, told me they guarantee both the yeast and the culture medium for the yeast (often corn and beet, both GMO crops) to be non-GMO. I told the others I would not buy their products until they guarantee non-GMO on the label.

9) Encourage anyone you know not to use Roundup because it is integral to GM food production, much more toxic than once suspected, and buying it supports Monsanto

LEVEL III (COMMUNITY)

10) Organize rallies, protests, donate to and support organic groups, create and circulate petitions, set up information booths, and begin a public outreach to masses of people to denounce GMOs and support organics.

Additional actions: pass out GMO warning flyers, write articles, post notes at work, go to protests, Google GMO articles and videos. Host movie nights.

11) Plant that organic garden already! And get your family and community involved.

EXTRA TIPS/REMINDERS

In sum, the overall safest, healthiest, and most economical way to empower our GMO Eradication Movement is to buy whole organic foods, grow you own, prepare your own meals, and buy from as many local organic farmers as possible.

If a food is organic it is not GMO. Knowing GM food crops will tell you which foods to look out for in their non-organic form. If not organic, a food may still be non-GMO, but this is becoming more and more unlikely. For example, sugar beets come organic, GMO, and conventionally grown (often grown with pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, but not necessarily GMO). Organic sugar beets are non-GMO. Conventionally grown sugar beets might be GMO (you have to ask), but best to avoid because they are likely laden with pesticides.

If a food ingredient contains “sugar,” it is likely GMO because a lot of sugar comes from GMO sugar beets! If the label reads “cane sugar” it likely has pesticide residues but at this point in time is not GMO. Health tip: stay away from “sugar” for good physical and emotional health and to be a GEM!

VITAMIN SURPRISES:

* Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) can be made from GMO corn

* Vitamin D and vitamin K may have “carriers” derived from GMO corn (such as   glucose, sugar, starch, and maltodextrin)

* Vitamin E is often made from soy

* Vitamins A, B2, B6, and B12 may be derived from GMO sources

Remember “All Natural” and “Natural” labels don’t mean squat. These foods can still be GMO.

Thank you for becoming a GEM, not a GMO! The 11 Steps can be downloaded here on one convenient page, though without the “examples” mentioned in the 11 steps above. Please share the 11 Steps everywhere you can and join us on Facebook.

In Solidarity,

Jack
