CHANCE OF FLARES: Big sunspot AR1890 has quieted since yesterday’s X-flare, but this could be the calm before the storm. The sprawling Jupiter-sized sunspot has a ‘beta-gamma-delta’ magnetic field that harbors energy for strong flares. NOAA forecaters estimate a 60% chance of M-class flares and a 30% chance of X-flares on Nov. 9th.
